Nice staff and good service, Keo on tap which is cold and fresh exactly as it should be. Now the reason it’s only getting 3 stars is the food. I ordered mixed meze and believe me when I say this, it’s ALOT of food. Far too much I’d say. It would be much better, if they reduced the amount of food to just under half and improved the quality. Their prices are extremely reasonable, but I honestly don’t know how 2 people could eat this much food even if they wanted to. In short, I would say just order some meat with chips or pitta and you’ll enjoy your meal far more than if you go for the mixed meze as these are the best parts of it and it’s unlikely any of your food will be thrown away.
To go into more depth Id say the quality was only poor on some of the dishes: for example none of the seafood in the meze tastes fresh, all tastes frozen and has been deep fried so has little flavour without even a slice of lemon. The salad definitely needs more effort (as others have said) and as someone who has enjoyed olives all my life, I cannot say I enjoyed the olive kebabs, they didn’t taste fresh and were way too salty. I’ve never had mixed meze that had fried bacon served with it before, this didn’t strike me as being traditional Cypriot, I might be wrong but I would assume this is catering towards the typical British tourists who frequent here as it just didn’t seem to belong with the rest of the food. The pitta was great, but really lacked a good houmous to go with it and the sliced bread that came before it added nothing to the meal. The cake we had for dessert was good, but the multicoloured toppings on the ice cream definitely lowered the tone a touch.
I really liked the staff and hence, I hope they find my criticism constructive and it helps them improve on...
Read moreBeen here in Pafos as a tourist for 6 days. Price wise I was a bit disappointed by cyprus but here is where I write my first review.
We came from the tombs of kings looking for a restaurant and this was the closest.
We were outside checking the menu and a friendly staff member came over and gave us the menu in form of a flyer in case we were on the run and we wanted to come back later.
We were hungry so nope, immediately sat down.
For what I got the price was really good and the staff genuinely friendly which we hadn't encountered yet.
Also, not like the other "fancy-shmancy" restaurants we were served drinks first, then soup, then main dish and then dessert and that on time. Our food was served fast but well cooked.
The food was great, I'd eat here again and the warm homemade apple pie with vanilla ice cream and freaking maple syrup = yaaas boi!
Really enjoyed the food.. And the ouzo.. and the beer... Can only recommend...
Read moreA bit of a surprise: the prices went up, so the two kinds of Meze cost a little more now. About 19€ for the meat one and around 23-24€ for the fish one.
All in all, a pleasant experience. Very nice and friendly staff, a small play area for the kids.
The food is nice, although I honestly expected more. A little too much oil on everything for my taste, and I found a few scraps of plastic wrappers in my salad and calamari rings. Not sure that’s ok for a restaurant:)
The “fresh fruit” dessert portion of our Meze consisted of literally 3 pieces of uncut fruit: one banana, one orange and one green apple. That was a little bit funny, but nevertheless ended up pretty convenient to take away:)
Though the rest of the dessert — the home-made apple pie with ice cream and a liquor shot — was absolutely delicious!
I wouldn’t give it a 5, but the nice atmosphere and the staff are definitely worth more than a 3. So, a solid 4 star...
