This tomb is reminiscent of the non-monumental ones found in Petra, Jordan.
Tomb 1 is basically a hollowed out outcrop to form a burial chamber with loculi and ossuaries on three sides. The external sides of the rocky promontory have been chiseled and smoothed out. The remains of mortar and carved recesses point to the utilization of decorative architectural elements inside the chamber during Hellenistic and Roman times.
You will find a cavity on the floor by the right lower corner of the southern wall that used to have a clay pipe for libations.
This tomb carries a degree of resemblance with the rock-cut tombs in Petra, Jordan as it is carved out of the existing rock with a smoothed facade, for for the most part, every other tomb in The Tombs of the Kings is basically underground without a monumental facade.
