Hotel Theresia — Hotel in okres Kolín

I stayed here for a few nights in September of 2019. the Hotel was nice, conveniently located, with a lot of walkable attractions, free parking and local sights to see. I did knock one star off because I used the laundry service and wow, that cost almost as much as the stay.

Kolín itself, being between Prague and Kutná Hora is just about completely overlooked by foreign tourists. this makes it a nice visit to work a day Czech Republic.

The hotel is budget, a triple room per night costs only 98 EUR, and for a group of tourists the price is much lower, so it's not surprising that the room has stains on the carpet, and the bathroom ceiling shows signs of water spillage. But the room was spacious, the beds were hard but they didn't hurt your back, the room had a fridge, a kettle and a hairdryer, and the only thing missing was the air conditioning. The breakfast was delicious, the menu was wide enough so no complaints about the breakfast. Overall assessment - whoever saves money will find this...

The lobby looks nice, but that is about it. The rooms are nothing to write home about and the conference rooms are very badly suited for actual conferences. All the rooms face the open space above the lobby, so if two people stay up late and just talk moderately loudly in the lobby, noone else in the hotel is able to sleep. This is subtle, but actually a serious issue. Last but not least: the food is just atrocious. It is worse that an average school cantine but for the price of an actual restaurant. Avoid eating there...
