Kolin Synagogue — Attraction in okres Kolín

Největší zklamání mé kolínské výpravy. Měl jsem smůlu, celý objekt byl nepřístupný z důvodu rekonstrukce. Což bylo ale pochopitelné vzhledem k roční době (někdy se zkrátka stavební úpravy udělat musí) a na druhou stranu se mám alespoň příště na co těšit. Každopádně celá ulice Na Hradbách je nádherná. Je doložená už ve druhé polovině 14. století. Bývalá synagoga se zachovala v původní podobě - na raně barokním štítu je hebrejský nápis o založení stavby z roku 1642 na místě, kde stávala už starší synagoga vystavěná před rokem 1587. Současnou podobu získala pozdně renesanční budova po rozsáhlé barokní přestavbě mezi lety 1693-96.

The biggest disappointment of my Kolín trip. I was unlucky, the whole object was inaccessible due to reconstruction. Which was understandable given the time of year (sometimes you just have to do reconstruction work), but on the other hand, at least I have something to look forward to next time. Anyway, the whole street "Na Hradbách" is beautiful. It is documented as early as the second half of the 14th century. The former synagogue has been preserved in its original form - there is a Hebrew inscription on the early Baroque gable about the foundation of the building in 1642 on the place where the older synagogue stood before 1587. The late Renaissance building acquired its present appearance after extensive Baroque reconstruction...
