The Pension is situated in the heart of city Kolin, about 20min walk from the train station. Frequented main railway line is directly under the windows. Reception was closed, the client must waiting front of house (on the street) aprox.10 minutes until the arrival of the staff - this information is not listed on the website. Pension is himself classifies as *. Room is clean, adequate size, but dark (the room is illuminated by one (!!!) weak energy saving lamp shade covered and on the table a table lamp IKEA - it is not possible to read in bed tonight). Dysfunctional TV set-top box (perhaps the batteries are discharged without which it can´t control this device) eliminates the possibility of watching czech programms. In a small bathroom towels, bed sheets short, which did not cover the entire bed surface, which is highly unsanitary (as camp bed). Very poor quality foam mattress. Wifi in the room is almost inaccessible - in very poor quality (signal strength 1 in 5 grade scale, falling every 5 minutes for 5 minutes). Breakfast, which I consider as a web presentation inclusive is reportedly charged separately. Neither the quality of the breakfast does not deviate from the overall impression, which is about 30% of what is promised on the web. Overall, I found that the better workers' hostel completely misleading (deceptive=unfair) internet presentation plays an a three-star guesthouse, which is not only unfair, but...
Read morePension Falconi is located in a poorly maintained residential area, at 1.9km of Kolin railway station. Rooms at the backside enjoy railway noise 24/7. In front-side rooms you wake-up early by street noice. Reception closes early. Should you arrive later, at the entry is a key-box to be opened by code, or you wait until the arrival of a staff member.||||Our room street-side was of an adequate size and surprisingly nice furnished and decorated. With desk & chair, TV, wardrobe & safe, a good twin-bed and an extra single bed. We had a small bathroom with washbasin, toilet & shower. The drainage of the shower didn’t work properly. While taking a shower we were flooding the bathroom. The window can be opened and has sun-blinds but no mosquito-screens.||||Breakfast served at the top-floor room is very mediocre. Overall, Falcone is more a chic workers' hostel (Monteurzimmer). The internet presentation is...
Read moreShort, but amazing stay at Pension Falconi. Firstly, the staff was very helpful with my late check in - I got instructions on how to obtain a room card and also they asked to confirm that I got in safely. The location is next to the train station, which was important to me as I checked out early. The room was spacious. I liked that there were a lot of different lights and lamps - made the room feel cozy. There is a mini fridge and AC. In the hall there are two vending machines, one with snacks and drinks (even beer) and one with surprisingly good coffee. You have to use coins with them though.
The only critique I have is a lack of kettle (and a cup) in the room - in the vending machine there is no hot water, only coffee/chocolate. Maybe you can ask at the receptions for it, but I was out most of my...
