Wonderful building. It is possible to visit the interior with a guided tour every hour till 5 pm. Our guide did not speak English but was very engaged to explain everything in Czech (we are Polish so it was possible to understand). The tour includes the ossuary- very interesting. The interior is beautiful. The tower undergoes the renovation so it is not possible to visit however it is not clearly mentioned on the schedule. The roof will be available for visiting most probably in 2027 after it undergoes renovation. Anyway we can highly...
I have been looking forward to visit of the area around St. Bartholomew's hill for a long time. In addition to the freely accessible outer ward gardens, you can visit several very impressive sights with a guide. Each object has a single entrance fee of 50 CZK. Although you pay a double price for a tour of St. Bartholomew's Cathedral, but the ossuary visit is a part of it. If you arrive with children, I recommend the old parish school building with an interactive exhibition about famous personalities of Kolín. For me, one of the highlights of the day was visiting the late Gothic bell tower. In addition, you can visit two branches of the regional museum in Brandl Street. Add to that the Veigert House on the square, or the old Jewish cemetery, and you have a programme for the whole day - and all this in an area of only 800...
Read moreReally cool looking on the exterior. But they were supposed to be open when we arrived and it was not. The bars were locked right inside the doors for the interior of the church. It's disappointing and frustrating. The grounds were accessible and nice with alternate angles of the building. But still sad we could not...
