Ristorante La Piazza Liberec — Restaurant in okres Liberec

Tldr; good pizzas, rude staff.

What started out as a nice evening in Liberec, ended as a horrific ending at this restaurant. We waited over an hour (!) for our 3 pizzas and 1 pasta, which were then delivered with a half-assed apology of “everyone orders pizza so it’s really busy haha!” The people next to us who arrived half an hour after we ordered had their food before us. Our waiter spoke bad English but tried hard and was friendly. After we ate our (pretty tasty) pizzas and our (cold, but wasn’t supposed to be cold) pasta, we asked for the bill. The man who gave us our bill was not our waiter, and when my dad pulled out his card to pay, the guy had the audacity to ask us to tip him 10%! Now I understand that you want a tip... but you can’t ask for a 10% tip. And he wasn’t even our waiter! He tried to explain that the machine would only accept a tip of 10%, not lower. So we said okay, then just the original price. We paid, stood up (a little frustrated, confused and overwhelmed by this man who wasn’t even our waiter(!), asking for a tip), and this guy genuinely looked insulted that we did not give him the tip...

Definitely could be on an episode of Gordon Ramsay kitchen nightmares! Terrible experience here.

Travelling from England, we stumbled upon this on our first night as it had decent reviews online but once we sat down we realised the whole restaurant was a catastrophe. Every table around us was waiting for either food or drinks. It took around 15 minutes for us to be given a menu and then a further 50 min to get our pizzas (after asking twice how long it would take).

We also ordered a starter of bread to share which after asking several times, there was still no sign of the bread at all - just the pizza which eventually came. I had to ask for a tissue because the table had none and looking around at the other tables lots of people complaining with the wrong meals sent to the wrong tables. This looked like something out of Gordon Ramsay kitchen nightmares series! Think twice before...

Only giving 3 stars because the main course tasted good. But we ordered the Bruschetta as a starter, and it was not at all what we expected. They wrote in the menu that it was a toasted baguette with tomatoes and Parmesan, but it came as like 2 pieces of toast bread (the cheap kind) with a bunch of tomatoes on top, so we sent it back because we weren’t satisfied with it. Then we have to wait about 30-40 minutes for our main course which was 2 simple pasta dishes and something off of the daily menu. The other customers who came after us got their meals before we did, we didn’t understand why at all there was this confusion and huge delay with the food. I don’t think I’ll be...
