Outside seating with roof is nice and pleasent. Staff friendly and efficient. Kitchen visible indoors was in good order. Beer served at good temperature. Food is cooked to order spaghetti ala carbonara was made without cream which is correct but only with the egg yolks which is not my preference I would prefer all the egg. Preserved pork was cut thin I prefer cubed. Fresh pasta is used and this I feel is a mistake as the spaghetti is too thick this would improve with good quality dried pasta and the texture would improved. That said this was good compared to the same dish I have tried in other eateries in Prague so I was not disappointed. I would have liked more carbonara and the pepper to be more and in the dish not on the broad rim. I was unsure of the spaghetti with cockles in shell. The seafood I am sure was frozen but then how to get fresh in Prague. The sauce had tomato which to me is unusual. Overall it was a good experience and I would go again and try another dish but perhaps not pasta. In conclusion not like dining in Italy and I cod have made the dish myself to suit the way I like and was taught by an Italian gentleman but all the same at the price point it is good and worth a visit. .update March 2024 had daily menu cream of Mush soup and chicken and mushroom risotto both...
Read moreThe place looks nice and tidy, the staff is nice, the menu looks tempting. The location is sweet, the terrace is nice. Decent prices. Sounds good, right?
Yeah, too bad the food was absolutely terrible. I have ordered Carbonara and I am pretty sure I got diced supermarket ham inside (!!). The sauce tasted like the one you can buy in a jar in the supermarket (and I would bet money that was exactly what I got). There was absolutely no pecorino cheese inside (the menu does say: classic carbonara with pecorino, guanciale, eggs, black pepper). The spaghetti were undercooked, borderline hard (not al dente, literally 3 minutes undercooked). My girlfriend went for some basil/tomato sauce pasta - same problem, basically zero fresh basic, sauce tasting like from supermarket, undercooked spaghetti. Both dishes tasted worse then a high school cantina pasta.
It's really a shame, because the place def makes good first impression, but first of all it's a restaurant and if you can't make the dish you specialize in taste better then instant pasta from Kaufland, well,...
Read moreI came here for lunch and it wasn’t crowded. I ordered pizza, salad, and pasta. The pizza was very tasty, even though the crust felt slightly underbaked - but I actually enjoyed it, as it gave a unique texture. The sauce had a different flavor compared to the usual pizzas I’ve tried, where tomatoes are often just for decoration. The only downside was that the slices were quite large and it was a bit tricky to tell where one piece ended and the next began. The salad was just tomatoes with feta or tofu (hard to tell), topped with olive oil. Personally, I found it rather bland. The pasta also lacked flavor, despite being served with a green sauce. The restaurant itself is clean, with nice music. The waiter was very kind, polite, and spoke good English. However, the tables could use napkins and basic condiments like salt and pepper for those who want to adjust the taste. Overall, I’d recommend this place mainly...
