The building is great, the exploitation could be better here and there, but price quality super. The building being brandnew is well thought. Comfort of the executive rooms, bathroom, shower, bedding is TOP. Amenities look expensive, but are worthless. It is soap, nothing more. Body lotion is unpleasant. The bed sheet is too short leaving the mattras exposed at the headside. Sauna and steambath worked great, but only 4 beds for rest in a room full of light and annoying Chinese music. Why? “because we give Thai massage” ??
Reception desk was efficient, taxishuttle to airport was there at 4.15am in the morning at price of 25€, perfect.
The neighbourhood is to us the greatest benefit. After a day in too busy Prague historic center, it is a relief to come after 3 stops (10 min) on the yellow subway line, or a couple more on the tram right outside the hotel, to arrive in the vibrant artsy neighbourhood. What a location. Nice restaurants and lively coffee or wine caffees in all directions. Nice walks along the river, 1/2 hour from city.
So TOP location, excellent building, good noise isolation between rooms, super breakfast included, but details to be improved: amenities, the promised free water in the room was never delivered, and in the sauna, please big towels instead of those small textile rectangles, some fruit, dimm the lights, kick out the noisy water dispenser and replace by some cucumber water or teas (what else is the hot water for?). And spa or rainforest music, not the Chinese hitparade. No wonder we saw not a single person on the massage tables. And one more: make the bar more cosy, it feels like a canteen.
But we will return here when we...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Royal Prague, and was greatly surprised at the entrance, it was bright and welcoming and we are happy to state, it was a good experience.
Some of the pictures on the website do not do this hotel justice.
From the moment we arrived (09-12/09/2024) and went to our room, we were happy. The 1st room was spacious and highly decorated. The accommodation was clean, bright. It had all the usual amenities, i.e. separate shower/toilet. Sink, bed, wardrobe, together with a hard chair and 2 single sofa chairs, for relaxing. The shower/bathroom area is gorgeous. There was a TV, but we were unable to get the programmes using subtitles, so couldn't enjoy it as much. We then let the Hotel Management know that the room we booked for was a twin room and without any discord, they apologised and moved us into the original twin room booked and ensured the TV could be viewed by UK Visitors. The Team were really helpful and efficient, the move was smooth, the room was immaculate, all amenities excelled, we had the latest TV, with all Apps available and the space in the room and the bathroom was incredible.
The breakfast was brilliant with lots of variety and fresh with plenty to go around. They were very generous with their portions (see pics attached).
The Hotel is situated almost bang in the vicinity to the main areas (Karlin), which meant getting about from there to all the sightseeing tours and places, was a doddle.
We would happily recommend this hotel to family and friends who are looking for a clean, comfortable, friendly place to stay when visiting Prague, and we would definitely stay here again....
Read moreWe were a group of 12 staying at Hotel Royal Prague for four nights, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The main issue was the lack of air conditioning, which is advertised as available but was not operational at all during our stay.
We were initially told.this would be fixed by the next day, then the next day told this is a known seasonal issue and not due to a fault—which makes it worse, as it should be disclosed prior to booking. We were a group staying on various floors on various sides of the building and we all had the same problem. We were advised to keep windows open instead, but that led to two major problems: street noise and allergy issues (I suffer from hayfever). The rooms became unbearably hot, reaching 27°C, making sleep very difficult—particularly frustrating as we were in Prague to run the half marathon.
We raised the issue at reception multiple times and were constantly passed around—told to wait for an engineer, speak to the manager, or contact reservations. No resolution was ever offered, and it felt like staff were just brushing us off.
Had we known the air conditioning wouldn't be working, we would have stayed elsewhere. This lack of transparency significantly affected our trip. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone sensitive to heat or allergies—and urge potential guests to confirm whether key amenities like air conditioning will actually be working before booking.
However, breakfast was good, location was convenient for the half marathon, with a nice brewery and some restaurants nearby. Unfortunately we would not...
