Его построили в во второй половине XIX веке и открыли в год 1000-летия прихода святых Кирилла и Мефодия на славянские земли. Район Карлин был назван в честь Каролины Августы, супруги императора Франтишека I. На главной площади издавна проводятся большие ярмарки. Начинаются на Масленицу и продолжаются всё лето и осень. Проводятся различные фестивали, например Световой Лазерный фестиваль. Вокруг собора прекрасные лужайки, фонтан, дорожки, детская площадка. Замечательное место для отдыха!
