I went there last Saturday in a last minute call as the original place i was intended was full and now I have no wonder why this place had plenty of available tables on a friday evening.
After most of the main dishes in the range of the 300-500. I asked for advice to the waitress and I was wondering how the duck confit was prepared and she was not able to give me an explantion so in the end telling me "just duck". I would hope a better command of english but anyway ... It was ok so I asked for the "Rossini" Burguer.
The Rossini Burguer is servered in plain bread, in my case slightly stale. As I grab the burguer to give the first bite, the sauce come out of the burguer into the plate, leaving a oliy fatty soup in the plate. The meat was well cooked in medirum rare but it was quite plain and not tasty or juicy, so in the end a very average burguer for a premum price of 300czk. The sauce as I mentioned, extremly oily.
Also it was funny to me, how they serve the beer "Matuska". I am quite into the beer scene in Prague and I know many of the microbreweries around.
In this case, They have 3 options from matuska in tap (a 9" lager, an ESB and black ipa) and also it seems it is popular in this restaruant to sell it by the bottle.
The bottle is presented as if it would be a gran reserva wine, with a white cloth napking surrounding the bottle. They pour it in a small ritual while it seems they give a brief explanation of the properties of the beer.
Listen, I acknowledge few years back at the time the microbrewering started to boom in czech republic, Matuska made a good name and they were one of the first "known" micro microbrewries in prague producing rich hoppy ALEs.
But now a days with the hundreds of microbreweries doing all kind of different types of ales in a great varity and quality, pretending to give such status to this beer is ridicolous.
I had a 0.4 Matuska ESB for 0.75 czk. It was a hopy british ale but if ESB stands for Extra Special Bitter, none of the IBUs were presented, and it was just what matuska likes to do. Very flavour, aromatic hoppy beers, in this case with british hops that's why i guess tehy called ESB.
Not the location, the service, the food or the drinks matches what I think this place wants to be. Just the price is somewhere around where I think they imagine themselves they...

The atmosphere is great and pleasant. Modern touch. Stylish.
The food and service is excellent!
Started off with the steak tartare. Wow! Really great. Expertly done. It came with toast. I can eat this all day long. It is that good.
Then ordered their steak and came with fries. Thick and really juicy. It was cooked perfectly (I ordered medium rare) and it was so tender and very tasty. There is a feeling of wholesome-ness.... do not know if that makes sense. The garnish is a great blend with the steak. In short the steak is super good... their fries is great too. Not oily at all. Tasty.
Their beef hamburger is equally as good. Came with a heathty portion of what I think is coleslaw and fries. The burger was thick and blended very well with the bread and condiments. Just right.
Every dish is exquisitely prepared. Very well thoughtout. Real fine dining.
This is a top notch restuarant!
Highly recommended if you are in...
Read moreWalking into Krystal Bistro, you get the vibe that this place has its own groove. The decor won't knock your socks off, but it's got that cozy feel that makes you want to settle in. Yeah, it's a bit on the noisy side, but that's just the sound of good times, right?
Now, let's talk about the food – it's straight-up fire! My smashed burger was so juicy, I had to hold myself back from demolishing it in one go. The patty could've used a tad more grill time, but hey, nobody's perfect.
Even when the place is as packed as a rock concert, you won't be left waiting forever. We got our grub in just minutes, which is pretty stellar considering the crowd.
Price-wise, we're talking middle of the road – not too steep, but you know you're getting your money's worth. And it feels like the neighborhood's only getting better, making those prices look even sweeter.
But what really blew me away was the service. The waitstaff treat you like you're the VIP of the day, not just another face...
