Disappointing.
Staff - Jan the reception man was great, friendly, helpful, kmowledagble, empathetic, spoke good English. The cleaning lady was also very pleasant amd helpful. The two ladies in the breakfast room were miserable, not very willing and were bothered by any requests.
Location - is well out of the city, which is fine, opposite is a building site, not too mich noise. Some shops, wine bars and restaurants around the area. Hotel is kn the corner of a main road and tram track, quite busy and loud if you like to sleep qoth the window open.
Parking - as per most places in Prague there are coloured zones. Blue zone is for residents/card holders i think, which this street was. there is an undergriind car park fir 450kc, i tjink per day, this was never offered to me. when asked where i can park, naively thinking underground, i wqs told the parking area qas 200 meters away. No issue so far, receptikn gave me dirextikns and a plan with pictures..."look for the entrance inside a building covered in graffiti". Slight panic, stayed opptimisitc...was sadly wrong, the building was a gate locked with a padlock. Behind the gate there was...well...a waste piece on land where a building used to stand.....a caravan...10 or 12 parking spots, a childs paddling pool, and a storage container that had been turned into a bar...supoosedly this was a modern artistic, contemporary kind of place where you can enjoy a drink and some food...and park your car. Another person alresdy had a flat tyre, i prayed the car would still have wheels on our return...i calmed my thoughts that there were other much more expensive cars around us mkre worthy of stealing....i have to say the car was intact for 3 days and nights, mu nerves, not so much.
Food - we only had breakfast here. A good selection of hit and cold items, drinks, sweet pastries, cereals, cheeses, meats and breads, coffee (illy) was ok. -My wife asked for some lemon for her tea, theblady, after some rumaging in a drawer found an end piece. there are no fruit juices per se, some pinky coloured water and with lemon is available. no black tea apart from decaff which there were 3 boxes of. I asked and there was none, despite it being in the rooms. We ended up buying Lipton from the nearest supermarket. 2nd morning the coffee machine packed in witj no one able to fix it and the lady relctantly making espresso, no other possibility. livance were made in the muffin tin and were like bullets. sugar pots had barely any sugar and were not filled from one day to the next.
Bedroom - we had a family room which was a large double bed, 2 single beds, bathroom (shower and bath), separate toilet. TV and aerial had to be unplugged as the cables rannober my daughters pillow. plug in the bathroom sink does not work. I wanted to wet shave one morning and the sink would not hold water, i ended up using a water glass. shower glass guard leaks water onto the floor that needs mopping up, a hole in the silicone surely a disaster waiting to happen for the room below. toileteries were low quality and impossible to get a lather for washing oneself. the toilet was very low, like it was made for a child, anyone with bad knees might have a problem. toilet door squeaks, looks like someone tried to oil it as the wall is splashed with grease. something had been spilt on the carpet and had gone crusty and hard. bedroom was on the front of the hotel abkbe tje entrance and the bistro. Until midnight the stench of cigarette smoke filled our 4th floor room each night,
We were so fed up and tires we checked out after the...
Read moreEN (DE below) Our stay at Hotel Plaza Prague was very enjoyable. You can reach the hotel by public transport easily, the tram-lines 6 and 12 take you very close to the hotel, just 1 stop away from nádraží Praha Holešovice Metro-station. The staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful. We were welcomed friendly and got a very nice room, clean, big enough, comfortable and meeting our special request for a quiet room. We also found a nice complimentary gift from the hotel on arrival. To our suprise we found that the toilet is separate from the bath room, which is a good solution. The breakfast is good but not fantastic, with a range of bread rolls, bread, sweets and savoury food, although the chef let the guets wait for refill of missing foods sometimes. The water at breakfast is tap water, which is strongly chlorinated and for this not so nice to drink. Overall the value for money is very good and we can recommend the hotel for your pleasant stay in Prague!

Location: ★★★★★ (5/5) ✔ Prime spot in Prague 1, just a 5-minute walk to Wenceslas Square and 10 minutes to Old Town Square. ✔ Excellent public transport links (trams/metro nearby) for easy access to Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and more. ✔ Surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and shops, yet the street itself is relatively quiet.
Rooms & Comfort: ★★★★☆ (4/5) ✔ Spacious, modern rooms with comfortable beds and blackout curtains. ✔ Soundproofing is decent, though some street noise may be heard in front-facing rooms. ✔ Bathrooms are clean with good water pressure, though some fixtures feel slightly dated. ✖ Minor complaints: Some rooms could use a refresh (wear on furniture, occasional AC quirks).
Amenities & Services: ★★★★☆ (4/5) ✔ Generous breakfast buffet with hot/cold options (fresh pastries, eggs, Czech specialties). ✔ 24/7 reception, helpful staff (English-speaking), and luggage storage. ✔ Small fitness center and sauna available (basic but functional). ✖ No proper spa or pool (if that’s a priority).
Value for Money: ★★★★☆ (4/5) ✔ Competitive pricing for a 4-star hotel in this location—often cheaper than Old Town hotels. ✔ Early booking discounts available; check deals on their website. ✖ Breakfast can be pricey if not included in the rate.
Who Should Stay Here? ✅ Tourists who want easy access to Prague’s top sights without the Old Town crowds. ✅ Business travelers needing reliable Wi-Fi, workspace, and transport links. ✅ Families/groups looking for larger rooms at a fair price.
Final Verdict: A great mid-range option with a fantastic location, solid service, and comfortable (if slightly aging) rooms. Ideal for those prioritizing convenience over luxury.
