Went for dinner with a pal and sat outside on the terrace. Ordered prawn Caesar salad main to share as a starter as well as another traditional starter. When the mains came out the waiter/manager, whilst holding the food, told us to move to a table nearby where there was a standoff between two dogs. He said they were closing that section of the terrace. The dog thing diffused but our new table had no working light so it was a little too dark to eat for my liking. When finished, they waiter asked if all was good and I said that I thought it not good to move people to a new table in the middle of dinner. He said "but you were not, I asked you to move before you started" I said no, and that we had had two starters. "Oh! I didn't know that". He then told my Czech friend that I was from another country and that things are done differently in CZ. My friend who also worked in hospitality said that he wouldnt be allowed to do that in places where he had worked. Anyway, to top it all off, he finished his shift and sat with his friend in the now closed/prohibited tables chatting and smoking just centimetres away. Weird. If you close off a section, fine. Just let diners finish their meals and don't sit any new diners in that part. Easy peasy. The female waitress, by the...
Read moreI recently dined at Restaurant Pod Parou with my foreign colleagues, and while we anticipated an enjoyable experience, several aspects were disappointing.
First, although communicating with the staff was challenging, it was manageable to a degree. The more significant issues, however, lay in other areas. The food quality failed to meet our expectations; for example, a steak ordered medium arrived well-done.
Second, despite the restaurant not being busy, we faced long wait times for our meals. To make matters worse, several of our orders were incorrect, causing further delays and confusion.
Most disheartening was overhearing staff make derogatory comments about my colleagues in Czech, presumably under the assumption we wouldn’t understand. This is unacceptable and wholly against the principles of good hospitality.
Based on these experiences, I strongly recommend that the management or owner consider hiring staff who genuinely wish to work in the hospitality sector and can provide the level of service expected from a reputable establishment.
This recent experience fell far short of the service standards we were expecting and demands...
Read moreNice place, but unfortunately disappointed by the attitude of the two waiters there. Asking if we are ready to order drinks without offering a menu seems kinda strange. It was also disappointing that the wait for the soup took about 45 min., and it took + 20 min. for us to be given the classic Tartar (no one discussed with us in advance what would be an appetizer and what would be hot. They just decided that) although our friends received their main dishes while we just got our soup;c
The most dissatisfied is that the tartar was served without bread which is initially included . We asked one of the waiters on serving us the rest, and he said that we’ll need to wait a couple of minutes. Why should we wait for what needs to be served together? Hence, it took not a couple but another 15 min., until we informed the only waiter who somehow tried to resolve the issue. He endured as soon as we informed him of this misunderstanding. Soup and tartar were...
