En-Dulce — Restaurant in Centro Histórico

Awesome sandwich. :)

I've been travelling a few months now and in that journey, I fell inlove with sandwiches as the ultimate go-to meal, so Im quite picky about it. I loved everything about Endulce sandwichs. We tried Club and el Pernil at Ideal size. If youre really hungry I would recommmend the bigger size.

Bread is fresh and salty. Flavors are on point.

I took mine with a guanabana shake that you sweeten to your taste and straws are biodegradable. Love that.

Payment in cash like most of the places in centro historico..

Can’t comment on the food because I didn’t have a chance to sit down. I got there when all the tables where full - asked if I could wait, and the manager said sure. After 30 minutes a table is finally free but the waiter, instead of calling for me, grabbed the group behind me. Note that the waiter had talked to me before and asked if I was waiting for a table, so he knew I was there. The waiter told me I’d have to wait more and didn’t know long that’d take. I just left. Very disappointed and humiliated - not sure why the waiter chose...

This cafe was our absolute favourite during our stay in Quito. We live in Australia and consider ourselves to be pretty discerning of coffee quality. Well, the brew here was excellent. Pair that with a great selection of desayuno/almuerzo treats, mouth watering pastries, friendly and very welcoming staff AND the added bonus of being able to watch the bakers at work creating a selection of delicacies from behind a glass pane at the breakfast bar while you eat.
