I chose this place because it looked like it had charm. It's old and dated with small rooms and no real niceties but I expected a great experience. From the moment I arrived it felt unprofessional with the clerk running around, no uniforms or anything, couldn't find my reservation. Gave me a key to the room that didn't work. Said they had to send someone to make another key because it's an actual deadbolt. No TP in bathroom. First use of bathroom it clogged. Lighting in the room was low but the bathroom lighting looked like a black light. Just not a good feeling in the first 45 minutes so I left and went to El Dorado Hotel which was fantastic. ** In response to the owners reply: I checked-in to your hotel and was in the room for 45 minutes before I decided the service was unacceptable to me. Your hotel may not be luxury but your hotel does not have to be luxury to have great service. «+»||Great hotel location right in the heart of the Historic City Center. The area around the hotel is safe and convenient, there are a lot of shops and restaurants around. In general, the hotel’s interior courtyard design is nice. The room I got was huge (somehow I got upgraded for free to the largest 2-bedroom unit with 4 Double Beds). I paid $24 per night, and I find this deal great and super reasonable. The hotel has a pretty flexible guest policy (you can bring guests any time of day to your room with no additional charges). ||||«-»||Front desk staff did not speak English at all. The rooms need to be updated, they are kind of crappy and super basic looking. Uncomfortable hard beds. Super tiny bathroom in my room. Awful cheap bathroom amenities (actually just a bar of soap and shampoo, nothing else was there). No towels in my room (even the next day when a housekeeper came to clean my room, she did not leave any towels), so I had to dry myself using a sheet from one of the beds....

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this hotel. They overbooked my room, leaving me without a place to stay for the night. Despite the significant inconvenience caused by their error, they promised to refund my reservation but failed to follow through.

Very unprofessional. Not only did they leave me stranded, but they also refused to take responsibility for their mistake. I feel completely cheated by their false promises and lack of accountability.
