A good location, but a poor hotel.||When checking in, no staff member could be found. I called out and looked around for 5 minutes before someone arrived. No record of my reservation seemed to exist and I signed a pad to check in.||The room was freezing and the man on the desk loaned me a portable heater. This made it tolerable. The shower was freezing and took 10 minutes to warm up. The bathroom was even colder than the bedroom!||The Wi-Fi was atrocious and hardly ever worked. The reception man insisted that I used the room phone, when I wanted to confirm my tour. Every other hotel in Ecuador I stayed in called for me.||On Christmas day, my room wasn't cleaned, as there is no spare key when the owner is away.||I was given another room, which was slightly better, as the shower warmed up in 5-6 minutes.||On the plus side, the breakfast was good.||When I checked out, again no staff member could be found, after 5 minutes of looking and calling out, I looked over the desk and saw a pair of feet, this was someone fixing the wires on the computer.||He looked around and he finally found the reception staff member, who was working in the laundry next door, that is part of the hotel.||The hotel does have a good location and is only a short walk to nightlife and all of the attractions of Cuenca.||However, there are many hotels with a similar location, they would be a better...

Super walkable location to local historic sites and restaurants.||When I needed to get to the bus station, taxis were unavailable so the manger (currently at their other hotel) came over to give me a ride to the bus terminal! And even helped me carry my bags. So kind!||The walls made speaker phone conversations, tv, and music echo a lot which may only matter for sensitive ears. Reception played modern pop music - not fitting for the era of the hotel (but it was extremely quiet near my room).||Overall if I return to Cuenca I will strongly consider staying at Hotel...

The food was tasty and very filling. The service was friendly and...
