Magdalena Hotel & Suites — Hotel in Cuenca

Awesome hotel, I only stayed one night but would have loved to have been able to spend a few more nights in the hotel especially at the price point because breakfast is included although I left before it was prepared so that I could catch my flight. The room is thenperfect size for two people and has great accommodations the shower and toilet were amazing I really loved the shower. And the bathroom in general and the window opening was cool also. Hotel staff were super friendly and spoke amazing English and even allowed me to speak in spanish with them even though mine isn't very good. Check in was hassle free and there is no international charge on the credit card.

I won't take a star away for this minor complaints because I enjoyed my stay very much and would definitely come back here when I return to cuenca. but if i had to complain about something it would be that they didn't tell me to plug in my refrigerator I returned from my evening out on the town and was a bit thirsty and all of the beverages were warm and the cafe with cold drinks was closed and I didn't want to go out again because they lock the front door at night.

And lastly the flooring is beautiful in the hotel but they should probably lay down some hallway carpets to cut down on the noise at night.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. I was staying here and paid the Manager a deposit and rent, in advance. The owner had a disagreement with her manager, and fired him. Then she came back to run the hotel, and demanded that I pay her the rent again, after paying her manager. I reluctantly agreed, but had to transfer more money and told her it will be a couple of days. She barraged me everyday about the money. When I did pay her, she literally took the money and locked me out. I have never met someone so greedy and evil. Even her workers came begging me for money, because she refused to pay them. Her manager, Javier, was actually a very nice person. No wonder they had a falling out. She will take your money. Consider this your warning. I am a very nice guy and have seldom dealt with...

What a wonderful hotel! Recently opened, everything is beautifully renovated! Very reasonable price which included breakfast! Truly loved everything about our stay, the rooms were beautiful, bed was very comfortable, all of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a great location in the historic old city, close to many restaurants and points of interest while still being on a quiet street that’s not noisy at night. Would recommend this hotel to anyone...
