Stay somewhere else! The staff acted completely shocked and not a little annoyed when we showed up. They asked repeatedly if we had a reservation and when it was made (yes, and a month before). Then they said there were no rooms ready and we'd have to wait why they got it ready, in a way that implied it was our fault. To be clear, one of us speaks excellent Spanish, so this wasn't an error of translation, it was just plain rude and unprofessional. The hostel appeared to be empty and dirty, furniture stacked in corners and trash everywhere. Once our room was ready, it was clean and the shower was hot, and it was only for one night, so we were prepared to let it go. But then, we went out for a few hours, returned at about 7:30PM...only to find ourselves totally locked out. Lights off, gate locked, and no response to the bell no matter how long we leaned on it. We were locked out on the street for about 45 minutes in all. The neighbourhood is ok, but not one where you want to be standing around on the street that long, and it was just wildly unprofessional not to have someone around to let us in. We finally get in (again, no apology) and get ready for bed, only to be interrupted by a by what sounds like a loud family argument in the next room over. The next morning, preparing to leave, we again had to hunt someone down in order to check out, apparently waking him up in the process. I've stayed in a lot of hostels, not all of them nice, but one basic tenant they all seem to abide by is that they don't lock their guests out at 7:30 in the evening. If you can find anywhere else to stay,...

Read moreWe chose this hostel as it was walking distance from the bus station, and and we were tired from a long ride.||We were greeted by a lady (no English) who had very little information about the hostel and we waited 15minutes for her to get ahold of the owner.||He was very quick and made us feel rushed. Thankfully we negotiated a reasonable price for the private room. We only stayed one night. (As we found a hostel cheaper with more to offer).||The room had air conditioning and clean sheets. Perfect for a nights stay.||The kitchen was grose. There was ants everywhere. There was only a half bar fridge available to put our food. The door barely closed and I woke up to ants all over our breakfast. There was also no gas for the stove. But to our surprise a fresh jug of water on the filter.||At night they open a not budget friendly “street food” Resteraunt. I think they care more about the Resteraunt...
