The location of this hotel is on the main road to "Aeropuerto Internacional Jose Joaquín de Olmedo" coming with taxi from bus terminal cost 5 US dollar (fixed) airport/terminal taxi price. When we arrived at the hotel I ask the receptionist how much is the taxi to the airport? he said is only $3 ||||Set aside $3 dollar for taxi to the airport. When we get into a taxi outside the driver didn't turned his meter, but I already had $3 coin in my pocket. We get off at departure area unload our baggage and I gave him the $3 dollar, he didn't complain||||We have a two night stay in Guayaquil, this is our last destination in Ecuador. We choose this hotel because is close to international airport and also near the Shopping Mall (Mall del Sol). We have an evening flight back home, our plan is to spend a day in the mall. The shopping mall is across the street of Livingston hotel||||The price of this hotel cost 39 euro during the booking, it wasn't the best hotel, but the location is good for us. The guy at front desk can't speak English you need basic Spanish to understand, but he's very friendly and helpful. We have our room at third floor and they have elevator. The city center of Guayaquil is quite away especially the Malecon it cost $6 by taxi||||This hotel has also apartments, for those who stay longer a flat is available. The hotel has kitchenette for people who'd like to cook. When we get upstairs the receptionist came after us, he offered another room one of the roadside. Is also very spacious room, but we're thinking on the noise, so we decide to keep the back room. It was nice of him offering another room we have to choose he said||||The room is very spacious with coach, fridge, television and simi room for warderobe. The bathroom is somewhat not the best I've seen lime on wash basin and faucet, but for the price and location we can't complain. There is no restaurant or bars around but across the road you can have a drink at Howard Johnson Hotel this is open for everyone, but not to be the cheapest place for a drinks||||The front desk have drinks for sale. Breakfast room is also located next to the office. We have continental breakfast included, it seems like we're the only guest that morning. When we get down the guy who's on duty that morning has to served us. We have each four toast, jam, fried eggs and bowl of fresh fruit, coffee and tea. Is not so bad for a small breakfast||||Nobody speaks English in this hotel, we've seen three different staff and none of them has English, so be prepared with...
Read moreMy friend and I had an early flight out of Guayaquil and wanted a hotel near the airport. Reading what was said about it, it seemed perfect. It said the staff spoke 3 languages and one of them was English. My friend and I speak very little Spanish but if was better than their English. It also said they had a restaurant and bar in the hotel. The bar is a refrigerator in the lobby and the restaurant is a couple of tables and chairs off the lobby where they must serve the free breakfast. We had to leave too early to experience that. The room was dirty and the towels were also. The AC sounded like a truck going through the room. It kept waking us up everytime it started up. The hotel is supposed to have a 24 hours staff at the desk. I got back from dinner at about 9:00 PM and the door was locked. I had to ring the bell for 10 minutes until somebody woke up and left me in. We had to leave the hotel at 5:00 AM to catch an early flight. The night clerk assured me that a taxi would be waiting. When we came down in the morning there was no one on the desk. Finally someone came and we asked them to call us a taxi. We went outside to wait and he said i was unsafe to be outside and to wait inside. The cab finally arrived. It was not an official taxi but it was getting late and we took it to the airport. He charges us $6.00 for a 3 minute ride. It should have been a $3.00 ride at most. I would never consider staying here again. It is one of the worst hotels I have...
Read moreI booked a single night here when I had to stay overnight between bus trips. The hotel has plenty of good qualities to talk about. It´s 2 block away from a huge mall center, so it could be good if you´re in Guayaquil mainly to do shopping. The breakfast was also a cut above what usually gets served in Ecuador. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it was a nice surprise to learn that I had two free drinks included in the room charge.||||Now for the negatives. For one, the room and bathroom were not very clean and they had a sort of musty smell. It was also very hot in the room and the AC only came on around 11:00 PM, and even then it´s effect seemed almost negligible. Even a simple ceiling fan could have gone a long way toward giving the room some much needed ventilation. I also started to wonder about the structural integrity of the building, as I felt it shaking back and forth form time to time. The first time I though it was a fairly strong earthquake, but then I realized that it was happening every time a large truck passed.||||Bottom line, if you're looking for somewhere comfortable, you may want to...
