A VERY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I selected the Wyndham Garden Guayaquil because they said they had a shuttle service. I called them the day prior my stay and asked them to pick me up from the airport to make sure I have a safe way to get there. I provided them with my arrival time and flight number. They said someone was going be there with my name. I arrived in Guayaquil, and NOBODY was there to pick me up. I called the hotel and they lied to me saying that someone was there. I called again and they said that someone was going inside the airport at that moment (another lied). Guayaquil's airport is not far from the main street and it does not take a long time to get to the arrivals section. I waited on the phone for 10 minute and NOBODY arrived. I had to take a taxi in order to make my appointment. When I arrived at the hotel there was not even an apology, nothing. By the way, I never saw a hotel shuttle, I just saw later a regular taxi for pick ups. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE, THERE ARE MUCH BETTER OPTIONS IN GUAYAQUIL. Shame on this place for their lies! I am never...
Read moreCheck in was easy, the hotel is immaculately maintained and well located and the room was spotless and comfortable. Marvelous king size bed and excellent 100% cotton, soft sheets. Staff was also friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a mixed experience, though the cold bar was extremely well stocked with fresh fruits, superb, healthy mixed fruit and mixed green vegetable/herb smoothies, nuts, dried fruits, cereals yoghurt and more. The hot foods: forget it. Worst stew (beef absolutely unchewable) and a waffle so bad I spit it out into my napkin! The eggs, well scrambled, moist but tasteless. Tried an omelet, tastefully presented but again, no taste—not even the ham and mushrooms and onions could salvage it.
To finish, though, even the staff in the restaurant were most pleasant, apologizing and seeming to express genuine interest and concern, while the checkout experience was equally gratifying, with the clerk asking a number of questions about our experience. Will definitely return to this hotel when...
Read moreWe were so excited to find this hotel so close to the airport in Ecuador! I've stayed in hotels around the world and wasn't sure what to expect here, but the service was wonderful and the rooms were spacious. If you look at one photo I posted, it might take a minute to notice why I snapped it - they gave me a real mug for my morning coffee! Yay, I don't always get a real mug for my morning coffee. The room was spacious and clean and plenty of room for us and our bags. There were plenty of outlets for our devices. The buffet for breakfast was large and varied, but remember, you're not in USA, so there are many different bites - try them! The coffee was so good. The free shuttle was ready to take us to the airport on schedule (it runs every hour, I believe, but check that). It took less than 10 minutes to get to the airport! The surrounding area looked nice but there was a little rain shower when we were leaving, so we couldn't get out and enjoy the area. I recommend this property for...
