I hesitated before writing this, knowing it's a budget hostel where expectations shouldn’t be too high yet there should still be basic standards regardless if it’s a cheap or luxury hotel! Unfortunately, it seems like there were bed bugs, as my roommates and I frequently woke up with red, itchy spots, despite being told the sheets were freshly cleaned (see the attached pictures). Additionally, there was no air conditioning during the peak of summer (mid-July to August), which made it unbearable. They eventually provided a fan, but it was dirty and full of dust, so I had to request that the receptionist clean it. The cleaning lady, Yasmine, was another issue. She was not only rude but also disrespectful, often raising her voice and EVEN calling me a liar when I pointed out that the “new” sheet had visible stains and all wrinkled. It's important to note that while this isn’t a 5-star Hotel, clean and fresh smelling linen in is crucial, and daily changes should be mandatory. I personally saw the laundry room, which was more like a small space with a toilet and shower, along with a tiny washing machine. Definitely not a proper setup for maintaining hygiene!! It was unpleasant.. To be fair, the hostel's main advantage is its central location in downtown Cairo, which makes getting around easier. However, they need to improve their attention to cleanliness and hygiene (notice the stained yellow ish couch- picture was taken the day I arrived). So to summarize, this hostel has a great location but poor hygiene. There were -apparently- bed bugs, dirty linen, no AC, and rude staff. Be careful. I frankly don’t recommend this place at all, there are many hostels at affordable price that are cleaner and have friendly staff. PS: To whoever is managing this hostel’s profile, your reply is disrespectful and inappropriate which only reflects your unprofessionalism. Instead of addressing the real issues I raised about the bad hygiene and service, you chose to make false accusations. I won’t stoop down to your level as this isn't the first time the staff there have spoke badly about the guests unfortunately and if you check the reviews about this hostel on “Booking.com” or even here on Google maps, you can see the amount of negative reviews and the bad experiences people had there! (My mistake was not making enough research before choosing my hostel). I’ve made plenty of amazing friends in Egypt during my Internship, but surely I’ve kept myself distanced from people working in your hostel because of your bad manners and lack of professionalism, so feel free not to like me :) Anyway, I was just being honest about my stay. You should focus on improving your hostel and treating guests better with respect. Such a shame Mr Ahmed.

There is no way to explain of how warmly I was received & looked after by the hostel ‘s hosts Mr & Mrs Ahmed. My ankle was badly injured before traveling to Egypt. It was healed as they looked after me like they look after their own children 👍😊. Arrived in the fasting month of Ramadan. During their breaking the fast , Mr&Mrs Ahmed invited all guests to eat with them. Room is clean . The sphere has been lovely & friendly. I felt that I was home. Their lovely kids were great too . It is a very family sphere. Location is excellent. It is in the 18th century old Cairo . Close to the Egyptian Museum / ElTahrir Squire/ Metro etc … Definitely recommended. I am looking forward to stay at their hostel if I am visiting Egypt again. If you try it once you do not want to leave it . It was just excellent in every which way . 👍👍👍Well done Mr. Ahmed . Wishing you all the best and success . Yasmine ...
