Summary: Spend a bit more money on a better place is what I would do if I were you.
Detailed review: Room: My room had private bedroom and private bathroom. The photos look like fancy-European-ladies vibe, and it does look like it in real life, but with small things falling apart here and there. I only found out there’s a door in my room that’s shared with the room next door (the kind that’s each have separate room but the door in the middle can be opened if booked as a family situation), I was not comfortable with that and they’ve never said anything about it. The noise was BAD. There’s a hookah bar below my window and there’s people talking the entire night, so I couldn’t sleep at all. The window blocks no noise.
Breakfast: I told them the day prior that I need my breakfast a little bit later, as I just arrived and want to rest more. In the morning the lady came way earlier than we’ve said, and won’t stop heavily knocking the door until we open it, even thought we already said just leave it on the floor… The food was actually not bad. Just simple bread, cheese, and juice. But I wish they follow the time and stop knocking so freaking loud even when we said just leave it.
Lobby: During my short stay I’ve worked with two front desk ppl. They both have been nice and helpful. I didn’t have the best feeling leaving my luggage at the front desk for an entire day, but it ended up fine in my case.
Location: Not the easiest to find, and this includes for the uber drivers. It’s best to walk a few blocks out then get an uber. 2 out of 3 Ubers I called could not find me due to the random one way street limitations. (So I had to wait forever, then cancel the ride, pay for the cancellation fee, and then book another ride…) Just walk out a few blocks is the best bet I can...
Read moreA hotel you should stay away from We didn’t notice that the rooms have shared bathrooms and toilets when we made a reservation. But the shared toilet and bathroom were dirty. There was not even a hanger in the bathroom to hang your clothes and towels. The rooms were not clean. I came across someone else's hair and body hair on the bed and i couldn't believe it. There were also stains and dirt marks on the sheets. I didn't want to bother since i didn't have the energy to book another hotel and my stay was short. The rooms open directly to the lobby and therefore you can't sleep because of the noise of people entering and exiting the hotel or chatting in the lobby. I asked them to be quiet one night when i couldn't sleep because of the noise made by the hotel staff but they continued to make noise for another half hour. On the last day the hotel staff kept pressuring us to give good reviews and high scores on google and booking. They wanted us to write the review in their presence. we didn't accept because we wanted to write the review with our free will. Another hotel customer had the same problem with us. They said that shared toilet and bathroom were not specified in the reservation and they didn't like the room i checked out. They stated that they wanted to see another room and lobbie guy took those customers to another room so that they wouldn't cause problems, I think they have rooms with their own bathroom and toilet and if you cause problems they give you one of those rooms. This situation developed before our eyes and we said we wish we had acted like this.
The only good thing was that the hotel was centrally located. Breakfast was also good. I recommend that you stay in more professional and corporate...
Read moreTruth is one can have mixed feelings about this hotel. I'd say it's okay and I'd book it again should I visit Cairo again in the future.
Upon our arrival, it was quite difficult to locate the hotel as it is in an old building downtown inside a narrow Street. Nevertheless, that was not an issue to us (as to most of the people on these reviews).
The place has a hostel part (that's where the worst reviews come from) and a private rooms part. We stayed at the private room with private bathroom.
The room was clean, nicely decorated and had air conditioning making it a nice place to stay.
The guys working at the hotel were suuuuper helpful!!! Helmy and Muka thanks. You can literally ask for anything and they are eager to help.
Location is close to everything within walking distance or a 5min uber drive tops.
On the downside, the rooms were extremely noisy because they are separated either by permanently -locked doors or plasterboards from one another. This meant that at some points we had to knock on the neighboring door to let them know we can't sleep and vice versa. Additionally, the balcony frames are also 0% soundproof. You can hear all the noise from the street which lasts until 3am.
The breakfast was everyday the same unless you asked for anything different which again was not good enough. Would rather booked it without breakfast.
All in all, our stay was very pleasant and I'd recommend this place for travelers.
