I admit that the reviews of others influenced my decision to book this hotel. Unfortunately, after canceling two previous hotel reservations because suddenly a very bad review appeared, I decided on this hotel. I believe that most of the reviews are written by fake accounts or bots that, unfortunately, have not been to the location. None of the previous guests mentioned the hideous and terrifying staircase. There are also NO CURRENT PHOTOS OF THE ROOMS - isn't weird? The elevator looks as if it’s about to stop working and get stuck. It’s in a deplorable state.
Personally, I received a different room than the one I had booked—I’m not sure if it was an upgrade or not. The windows are very poorly sealed; you can hear everything happening on the streets. I understand this is a building in the city center, but it was really a bothersome experience. There was an air conditioner just outside the window, so loud that it was impossible to fall asleep. On the last night, someone in the neighboring room was using their air conditioning, and I couldn’t sleep because of the constant thumping noise.
About the room and its condition: in the bathroom, the water dripped throughout my entire stay. On the first day, I reported it to the reception, and a polite gentleman said he had fixed it—unfortunately, the issue persisted. The faucet was so loose that I was afraid to turn on the water. Sadly, the bathroom was in very poor condition.
A big plus for the comfortable mattress, clean bedding, and towels. No one cleaned the room during my five-day stay, but that wasn’t mentioned in the offer. Breakfast is available upon request at the reception, and a kind lady will bring it to your room.
To mention something positive now: Very good internet—the Wi-Fi in the room worked excellently, and this was essentially the main reason I chose this place, as I needed to work. Very polite staff—both the women and the gentlemen who welcomed me on the day of check-in were very kind. A charming white cat that sweetly meows when it sees you. I traveled solo and felt safe, but I believe the price is too high for what you get in return. Next time, I would choose a different location, ensuring that the place at least has properly sealed windows so that street noise wouldn’t...
Read moreWhen we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle...
Read moreGOOD:|A security guard let us in the elevator when we arrived, since we did not have the key to enter the elevator. The elevator was fine for us, but I could imagine why some westerners or europeans would be freaked out by it. The staff was always friendly. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good but basic. There was AC and refrigerator in the room but we didn't use either. One side of the curtain rod was broken, but that didn't bother us too much. Toiletries were provided. There was a cupboard, which had some hanging, also a cosmetic table which had great lighting. Great location, quite central. Place was okayish for the price.||BAD:|There was no hanging in the bathroom. Warm and cold shower were available, but the water flow was...
