I stayed at a hotel located in the heart of Old Cairo on Talaat Harb Street—an excellent location close to many facilities, including the metro, Souk Al-Ataba, the Nile River, and Tahrir Square. The hotel occupies the 4th to 6th floors of the building and is accessible via two elevators.
The rooms were clean and well-equipped with a flat-screen TV and air conditioning. While the hotel does have some noise insulation, I could still hear occasional car horns from the street, though it wasn’t a major issue for me.
The staff were generally professional and courteous, especially the housekeeping team and the ladies serving breakfast—both groups were outstanding in their service. At the reception, we were warmly welcomed by Edouard, a friendly and professional staff member who kindly helped us switch to another room after check-in.
However, our experience on the last day was disappointing. We had paid for a late check-out until 6:00 PM, but at exactly 5:59 PM, someone knocked on the door to remind us of the time, just as we were packing—a gesture that felt abrupt and unnecessary. Later that evening, we moved our luggage to a friend’s room (who had booked an extra night) and planned to leave for the airport around 11:30 PM. While we were chatting with our friend around 11:00 PM, we received a call from the desk manager telling us that guests are not allowed to stay in another guest’s room. This felt unfair and inconsiderate, especially given that we were just about to leave for our 3:00 AM flight.
Aside from this unfortunate interaction with the reception staff on the last day, the hotel is overall secure, clean, and run by a mostly professional team. I would consider staying again but hope the reception desk staff improve their guest...
Read moreInside of room!!! Extremly loud!!!! Room were nicely decorated and people who work in hotel were mostly polite! Especialy woman for breakfast. We did not get the room that we booked. Room that we booked was bright with light and the room that they wanted to give us had no day light and windows were painted (yes, painted) with white color! Then they said you booked that type of room, but different pictures, which means that if you book with this hotel based on photos, you have no idea what are you going to get. Also, the room that we got as substitut for first night was loud! Tomorow we got more silenced room. And their description always says that the room is sound protected. Basicly... lots of things when you get there might not be true. They say that they have safe in the rooms, but the safe is like a toy... We took our pasports and belongings with us evry day. Also breakfast is continental, but it is evry day the same, omlet of one egg per person, 1 yougurt per person, etc. I will post the photo. Breakfast does not have to be expencive, but in Kairo for small money it can be different for sure. I'll post the breakfast for two. We had the same for 7 days. If you take the room that looks on Talaat Harb street you will not be able to sleep because it is old building and even on 6th floore it is too laud... you hear people, cars, music. Take the room that looks in the windows of the other bulidung and on the 6th floore if it's possible. It is ok that as small hotel you don't have things. Just put the photos of the rooms as they are and describe the things as they are.
P.S. the window was closed when I took video!!! And rooms are aperently...
Read moreThe place is located in Downtown Cairo, on a very busy street that doesn’t sleep. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and attentive. The breakfast is simple but filling and tasteful, it does the job! You can exchange euros or dollars at the reception for the exact exchange rate (no fees), which is great.
If you’re a light sleeper, I don’t recommend coming here! The building itself is very old and not the cleanest. We booked a tour to see the pyramids with the hotel. There were two things we did not like. First, after the Pyramids, the tour guide took us to a ‘famous perfume shop’, which is a cave-like shop where they demonstrate 10+ perfumes and you end up feeling pressured to buy something. When we got home, the perfume was much lighter in scent that what was sold to us at the shop. Secondly, we only payed to visit the Giza Pyramids, and the tour guide told us ‘Saqqara is also included!’. We were very surprised by this, however, when the time came to visit saqqara, he said that the hotel just called him and told him it’s not included and that we could pay extra to visit. Mind you, we were already on the way! We said no, and got driven back to the hotel. I don’t know if this was a honest mistake or an attempt to make us spend money! Also, in our room, the bathroom door had two pointy screws sticking out. We ruined a shirt with them,...
