Hathor House — Hotel in Cairo

Extremely nice and cozy. It is the best thing you can find for the price. It is very affordable and nice.

The staff was extremely nice! I do personally not enjoy speaking to staff. But even with my quick comments and leaving quickly. They always made sure to wish me a good trip and asked me all the time if there was anything they could help me with. So nice staff ❤️

The placement of the hotel was super central which made it easy to get around.

There are a few problems. The Hotel doesn't own the building and only owns the third floor. So it was difficult to find the hotel at first.

The breakfast was so boring that I chose not to get it more than once. Unsalted scrambled eggs, dry bread. Just a very boring breakfast. A croissant would be better.

Wifi wasn't the best, but atleast they had multiple networks for every time the wifi crashed.

Fantastic hotel, beautiful rooms and amazing staff! The entrance is a little tricky if you're not paying attention to the signs that are at the door, we managed to find it very quickly. The hotel appears to be located in a wonderfully interesting repurposed building with some unique features. We had a very comfortable stay here, the bed was wonderful, everything was clean and a nice warm shower. A simple breakfast was bought to your room in the morning. Good location to visit the museum, lots of places to eat nearby. Obviously it is noisy as it is in the middle of Cairo but they do provide you with ear plugs, we had a great night's sleep. The room is absolutely not worth the price. At first, the receptionists were really helpful, and the room looked nice, thanks to the decoration. However, there were issues I wouldn’t accept even in a $20 room.

First, the shower drained very poorly—my feet were soaking in the same water throughout the entire shower. Disgusting.

Second, the closet had an extremely bad smell—no one would put their clothes inside.

And finally, though less important but still unacceptable for the price, the shutter couldn’t open fully, making the room dark even during the day. On top of that, it didn’t feel particularly clean when you get inside—there was paint everywhere, and water stains all over...
