Iam an egyptian business developper living in u.s.a , uae , and egypt It was my 1st ever experience to be try this brand full of power to eat authentic koshary specially after my abscence from egypt for over a year .... Met with waiter called mahmoud gamal Who had an attitude towards any egyptian When asked for menu started to respond in rude unprofessional way saying only 3 prices starting from 35 to 60 and there is no menu not looking at us acting as we had to know it before we get there . Then he was talking about some sort of offers to some foreign women and men in table near me.. When asked about what offers available He looked back nervously saying no no no offers ..... He enforced us to pay the price before serving any food while every 1 in the tables around was paying after like normal And like every other restaurant i visit all over the globe .... Then when tried to joke asking for extra plate ( kemala) & asked about the price ... He suddenly looking wierdly to me as i did something wrong thenhe was asking what did i tell u???? ..... I didn't like the service while food is ok Thanks to mahmoud gamal who destroyed an image was built when i was living in u.s.a U need to learn to respect all pople from all cultures no matter what race , nationality ,religion or colour.. عيب يا محمود اختشي علي دمك احنا ولاد بلد واحدة .... Dual treatment to ur customers causes a bad image for the whole business ... Caused this bad review that against your store ... U need to learn a lot about hospitality .... Rest of the team was ok i didnt deal with them in anything they did a good job when asked ...... Was dining in the 19th of august 2024 around...

On our 5 day sojourn in Cairo we had become bored with the standard rice and kebab meal at every restaurant. Our guide, a young man named Ashraf, guided us to this restaurant, when we told him that we wanted an authentic Egyptian meal, apart from this. According to him, the origin of this restaurant was actually a handcart. The owner, was the father of young Tarek. Since "Abou" means father, so Abou Tarek, is father of Tarek. Having gained popularity, he expanded and hence this restaurant. There were numerous pictures of celebrities enjoying a meal here. This four storied restaurant is usually very crowded, filled with locals and tourists alike, and during peak times you may need to wait for a table. Koshary is their main dish. It is available in 3 sizes and is cheap, tasty and fills you up. It is also totally vegetarian, Made of noodles, chickpeas, homemade tomato sauce, fried onions, chilli paste and lemons. They are all served separately and the waiter assembled it with a flourish, right at our table. It was yummy and served hot, so we enjoyed the meal. Many may argue that it is not very good in comparison to other places, but as a tourist, I was delighted with my meal. The decor is loud, a trifle garish, with colorful lights, fountains and aquariums, but then it makes no pretensions. Unfortunately, the washrooms are dirty and they do need to...

Trying the traditional dish at Koshary Abou Tarek was a culinary highlight of my trip! This iconic eatery in Cairo is renowned for its koshary, a beloved Egyptian comfort food, and it certainly lived up to its reputation.

The dish itself is a hearty mix of rice, lentils, pasta, and chickpeas, topped with a tangy tomato sauce, crispy fried onions, and a drizzle of garlic vinegar. The combination of textures and flavors is simply delightful. Each bite offers a perfect balance of savory, tangy, and slightly spicy notes, making it a truly satisfying meal.

The atmosphere at Koshary Abou Tarek is bustling and lively, reflecting the popularity of the place among locals and tourists alike. The service is quick and efficient, ensuring that you get your food hot and fresh. Despite the fast-paced environment, the staff are friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience.

One of the best parts about dining at Koshary Abou Tarek is the affordability. You get a generous portion of delicious food at a very reasonable price, making it a great option for budget-conscious travelers.

Overall, Koshary Abou Tarek is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience authentic Egyptian cuisine. The delicious koshary, vibrant atmosphere, and excellent value make it a standout dining...

Save these Egypt details to your list! 👇 I’d recommend 10-14 days to explore Egypt. If you’re in a rush I’d skip the Red Sea because while it’s STUNNING, there’s lots of beautiful beaches around the world but no one has history like Egypt! 🕌 3 days Cairo 🛌 Holy Sheet Hostel (~$22/night for 2 people) 🚶‍♀️ Must see sites: Muhammad Ali Mosque, Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, Egyptian Museum 🧆 Must eat at: Abou Tarek, Oldish 📌 1 day Giza (or day trip from Cairo) 🛌 We did a day trip 🚶‍♀️ Must see sites: Great Pyramids, Saqqara, Dahshur 🌾 2 days Aswan 🛌 Bob Marley Hostel (~$20/night for 2) 🚶‍♀️ Must see sites: day trip to Abu Simbel, Nile River boat trip, Philea Temple 🎈 3 days Luxor 🛌 Luxor Guesthouse (~$20/night for 2) 🚶‍♀️ Must see sites: Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, sunrise hot-air balloon, Valley of the Kings, Hapsheut 🐠 3 days Red Sea 🛌 Fort Arabesque Resort (~$130/night for 2 all inclusive) Which country should I do next?? #egypt #egypttravel #budgettravel #traveltips #egypt🇪🇬 #cairo #luxor #aswan #pyramids #egypttrip
