Holy Sheet Plus â Cairoâs Hidden Gem with a Heartbeat||If youâre wondering whether Holy Sheet Plus is a real hotel or just a clever pun, rest assuredâitâs very real, and very worth it. When my family and I (a lively group of 9!) first arrived, we werenât entirely sure we were in the right place. The ground floor looked more like a transit hub than a hotelâjust escalators, stairs, and lifts, no grand lobby or lavish welcome. But standing there, like a friendly guardian of the threshold, was Francis. He greeted us with a smile, helped us with our bags, and guided us upstairs to the actual lobby and our rooms. Thatâs when everything transformedâfrom uncertainty to instant comfort.||At the front desk, Jan welcomed us like we were old friends whoâd just returned from a long journey. His energy? Immaculate. His hospitality? Top-tier. Francis continued to impress by showing us to our rooms and making sure we knew how everything worked.||đł Breakfast Goals|The hotel restaurant served up delicious breakfasts with a side of sunshineâliterally, thanks to the balcony overlooking Cairo. The food quality and service were consistently excellent. And hereâs a pro tip: if youâve got an early excursion planned, just let the staff know the day before and theyâll sort you out with a packed breakfast for the journey. Thoughtful touches like that really make a difference.||đ ïž Minor Mishaps, Major Recovery|Yes, the lift door has a personalityâitâs fast, furious, and not here to make friends. Hold that âopenâ button like your life depends on it, especially if youâve got older family members. Not a dealbreaker, just a heads-up for future guests.||Other hiccups? My toilet flush gave up on life, the TV refused to cooperate (probably user errorâme), and the AC got a little too enthusiastic. But every issue was sorted out faster than I could say âtamaly maakâ (shoutout to the tattooed staff member who introduced me to that banger of a tune đ€©đ€Ł).||đ Security & Peace of Mind|Security is solid. Cameras everywhere, staff working late, and doors locked after midnight. If youâre a night owl, donât worryâtheyâll spot you on camera and let you in like a secret agent returning from a mission. Bonus: itâs near a police station, so the area stays chill.||đŹ Vibes & Goodbyes|The best part? The people. Whether chatting with Jan or Ahmed in the lobby while waiting for taxis or laughing with staff like we were old mates, it felt less like a hotel and more like a reunion. The locals, the shopkeepers, the entire Egyptian vibeâitâs magnetic.||If I didnât mention your name, Iâm truly sorryâI wish Iâd had more time to speak with every single member of the team. You were all super friendly, funny, and made my family feel right at home. From the front desk to the bellboys, kitchen staff to the cleanersâthank you for the laughs, the care, and the memories.||Would I stay again? 100%. In shaa Allah, Iâll be back. Thank you, my brothers, for everything.||From Ali in Englandâwith love and a suitcase full...
Read moreIt's hard to review this hotel. Ultimately, it's fine, but lots of minor things that feel like could be easily fixed. It's a new hotel, and the same people as the hostel or a similar name, and there is an element of hostel attitude about some things.
To find it. Google maps is correct. I also added it on OSM it you use organic maps or similar. The entrance is round the back of the building that Google has. Off the main street, just walk down the side of the building either side, and you should see signs. There is an employee to help with bags. The hotel is on the 10th floor, the elevator only goes to the 9th though. So if you have issues with stairs, I wouldn't recommend.
Pros Location is excellent Air con and extractor fan in the bathroom are new, and effective Staff are helpful and friendly Good WiFi (and our local esim mobile data was fine) Laundry was 100 EGP per kilo (a bargain, but we didn't use) Airport taxi is $15, which is more, but they will ensure you get it. It's worth the small uplift
Cons Rock hard beds. I like hard mattresses, but this was extreme. I had painful hips from sleeping on them. The pillows were rock hard too No side lights, just big room lights. So it's super bright or pitch dark. This feels hostel like, and there is IKEA in Cairo. Noisy. Not from the outside so much as the windows work well when closed. But from other guests. Our neighbours were quite noisy, dragging furniture, returning at midnight with their kids running and shouting etc. We were unlucky, but the internal walls and doors don't protect from noise
If I was in Cairo again. I'd be on the fence as to whether I'd stay there again or take a chance on something else. We didn't get the rest we wanted, but maybe we had bad neighbours. These issues could largely be fixed...
