There wasn’t a single place in Egypt during my stay that got on my nerves as much as this one.
The first time we visited, everything was great. We only had drinks—the coffee was pretty decent, which is why we decided to come back the next morning for a quick breakfast. I ordered the chicken avocado toast and an iced latte. Although it took ages for our food to arrive—and our drinks were initially forgotten—everything turned out to be quite good.
The next day we returned again. This time, the staff told us they only had two sandwich options out of five or six. Fine—we ordered those with coffee. Again, everything was extremely slow.
We tried other coffee shops nearby, but Sip’s coffee was the most decent, so we gave it another chance.
From then on, the morning shift staff seemed to actively dislike us. They rolled their eyes whenever we showed up and even refused to take our orders. One day, we were told the coffee machine needed 30 minutes to start up. The next day, the kitchen would open in 30 minutes. The day after that? The kitchen needed two hours. Finally, on our last visit, they said the kitchen wasn’t working at all—while people outside were clearly drinking coffee and eating.
I’ve never experienced anything like this. Maybe the other branch is better at treating customers, but this one was a complete disappointment. I wish I could give zero stars—but it...
Read moreIt was lunch time. My husband and I went to this place. Outside, there was a sign with the specials of the day. We’re vegetarians and pescatarian, so we were glad to see they had a tuna salad sandwich and a grilled cheese sandwich. When we went to order, there were two young men behind the counter and neither one came to take our order. We called one of them and l told him we wanted a tina salad sandwich. He just said “no”. Then we asked for the grilled cheese sandwich and again, he said “no”. I tried to explain the sign outside said they had those, but soon, i realize he revised to sell us food. Then we went to the restaurant across the alley. The sign outside was written in English, but I recommend you don’t go there unless you are Egyptian. They’re anything but hospitable in this place. So...
Read moreThe place in general is nice. I like that they have tables indoor and outdoor. The coffe and croissant was good. Workers there can't say they were rude but can't say they were friendly. After paying I didn't get a receita from them and when I felt that I'm paying to much for what I order he showed me the copy he has with out giving me a copy. My main concern is the price I paid 70 pounds for a flat white which is ok and conciderd a good price but to pay 200 pound more for a croissant with cheese and turkey slice including the service is too much. The thing is that when the worker there should me the only copy for the receita he has the food item was titled “food“ which can be any kind of food. So for me Sip in the future will be...
