The Ramses Hilton is generally nice. Rooms are good sized and most include a very small balcony. This is an older property, and they seem to be phasing updates in slowly. Many bathrooms still have the original tile, sinks, and fixtures which are showing their age. Frequent evidence of crumbling grout, and "caulk" repairs to it which is functional but not high end. On the property are a variety of gift shops, two banks, and at least 5 restaurants. As of Oct 2024, breakfast is included on some room rates, but if not, the large buffet is $20. Dinner at that restaurant is $33. The Indian restaurant is excellent, and a good value at uber $10 per entree and a naan bread basket for under $3. The bar at the top has a well above average menu with many items under $10 and the views are incredible. Hard liquor throughout the property is ridiculously expensive but this may be endemic to Egypt. One mixed drink can easily cost $30-$50. Yes that is each drink. Increasing the cost of everything even more is the VAT and Service charge of a combined 26%. This adds a nasty "surprise" because it's quite significant and adds a nasty sting when the bill arrives. I would say the staff are generally nice and friendly but you get a very mild sense that this is required for the job and not a genuine personality trait or attitude. In a metropolitan area with 40 million people, this is probably a natural side effect. While you may at first glance think this downtown location is ideal, let me warn you that traffic is fiercely competitive and extremely busy. Drivers make their own lanes and quicky zip to fill every available opening, constantly jockeying for the best position. Motorcycles fill in every remaining gap, and completely ignore lanes, frequently zipping between and around cars. There are no traffic signals near this hotel to allow for traditionally safe pedestrian crossings. People just walk out in the street dodging cars to get across multiple lanes, at any point and without warning. You must cross many busy streets to really get anywhere, each time in a very dangerous game. Locals are completely accustomed to this and will wonder why anyone would expect a better solution. The location is certainly "central", but not at all pedestrian friendly for tourists.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The location is great! Close to many attractions, and if you're like me and enjoy venturing through the city, everything is "walkable". I walked to the local nail salon, stopped and got a bit on the way. I wasn't nervous at all or worried about my safety. The people were very helpful if I needed directions, and many just mind their own business. I can't say enough about the hotel staff! staff was attentive and accommodating throughout my entire stay! Starting with the front desk at check in, Mahommed checked me in and was very helpful with a silly mistake I made. It was my fault, but he took care of me as if it was his. Mahmoud Wafa at the concierge desk made me feel very safe. He guided me on where to go and how to do it safely (considering I wanted to walk around alone in the city) and advised me who to be suspicious of. He also gave me an EXCELLENT education in the history of the Egyptian people which dispelled many misconceptions that I previously had listening to American people. The executives lounge staff were also a huge part of why this review is 5 stars! Talk about attentive! They were kind, friendly, catered to not only me, but my son as well. They remembered every drink order, and never allowed me to carry my own plate to the table. however, my absolute favorite staff member would have to be Abd Elglil Shehata (restaurant manager). His human kindness will never be forgotten. Not only was he extremely professional in everything he did, he showed we that we are all people. No matter where we come from, we're the same. We all love, hurt, laugh, and cry. His service was impeccable, and his friendship was warming. You never know what a person is going through and you never know how your kindness can change the mood for someone else. The other honorable mention from service in the lounge is (I hate that I cannot remember her name), but the young lady with the black hair and glasses. The only thing that I feel could be much better is the breakfast. It's the same foods daily. I also could tell that food that was not used the previous morning was reused for the next day. Particularly the fried rice. Which was very good!

I've been a Hilton guest for as long as i can remember, but sadly, to say the hotel standards have been declining, so much that's unbearable anymore it's with really heavy heart to say but this is my last visit to this hotel that use to be a place where i can feel relaxed and pleased but not anymore after what happened during this stay not to mention the unclean spotted sheets and the dirty kettle the ridiculous behavior starting from some staff members specially at the pool side coffee shop the lack of decency and professionalism they are so focused on milking money from the customer they actually forgot how to do their job what happened is that I've been charged on my room number with orders i didn't make i figure it out by accident as i was making an extension for my stay i asked about my deposit and they told me it's been deducted that what started the investigation that took 3 hours of wasted time and empty promise that this will be resolved and i will get my money back in full. After the extension period ended today i head to the reception to make the checkout the previous worker apparently didn't leave any note in the system and the current worker has no idea about my ordeal so i had to go through the whole thing all over again only this time with extra stuff they put on me they told me that i burnt the table room by candle apparently and i ordered dinner which i didn't ofcourse and i was left with 30 something dollars from my 100$ i just would like to thank Ms Hadeer for her patience as i was so frustrated i have an elderly person with me that can't take this kind of stress they put me through she handled the matter and tried her best she contacted literally everyone but giving the declining standards i mentioned no one was there to answer her and the slow reply took forever and i have plane to catch she told me she will do the refund process and took the full responsibility and keep apologizing for something she didn't do she was so kind but we both know that wasn't her fault a serious action need to be done to help rescue whatever reputation left for this hotel that use to be one of the best otherwise this whole review and comment section for enhancements are all in vein. Even at the last moment as i was about to exit the entrance i was so late they hold me like i was stealing the doorman telling me to wait as there's something on hold i can't express how disappointed and stressed i am, and this should be a vacation, not a stressful journey. i had to go through twice once in real life and another in here writing it...

I just finished a three night stay at this property and I am not terribly impressed. The main issue I had with the room is that the climate control has a mind of its own. I tried turning the air conditioner to 20° but the room would never get below 22° and sometimes with the highest 25 degrees. The first night I was there I requested someone from maintenance come and he tinkered around in the ceiling for a while, but that basically didn’t do anything to fix the problem. The next day, I asked to change rooms and they were very responsive. However, the air conditioner in that room had basically the same problem. I did get the temperature down to 20° but it would fluctuate throughout the night from 18 to 23°. I do not understand what the issue is.

The other huge disappointment was with the Garden Court Café. I can’t describe the food other than to say it was one of the absolute worst meals I’ve ever had in my entire life and that is a pretty big statement. I ordered the roasted chicken with couscous and vegetables. What I was presented was clearly two very frozen chicken breasts that had been cooked to death on a grill top. There was absolutely zero seasoning with the exception of a dollop of what looked like marinara sauce. The couscous was dry with zero Flavor, and then there was a small side of the saddest vegetables ever which look like they were left over from something else. My friends ordered the four cheese pizza, which was obviously a frozen premade pizza that they had just added additional cheese on top of. What they received was a sloppy mess of cheesy soup on sad bread.

When the server asked how our food was, I said my chicken is very dry and not very flavorful and he just said OK and walked away. He was clearly not interested in helping us. We were on a tight schedule so we just decided we had to eat it for the sustenance and leave.

I have to say the staff here are incredibly helpful and friendly, but I think there’s just some fundamental problems with their HVAC system and the food preparation.

However, when we checked out and they asked how our stay was, we told them about the HVAC problems and the Food and they responded in a concerning matter but they acted like they had never heard any of these issues before. I was with two other friends, we each had our own rooms and we all have the same HVAC problems.

On a positive note, the views are incredible! We had Riverview rooms and if you look on the smog, you can see the pyramids which was...
