We had a wonderful dining experience at Namaste Indian Restaurant in Cairo. From the moment we walked in, the warm hospitality and inviting ambiance set the tone for a great evening. Special shoutout to Mustafa, who took excellent care of us – his service was attentive, friendly, and made the meal all the more enjoyable. We tried a wide selection of dishes: Chicken Biryani, Bhajias, Mulligatawny Soup, Murgh Tikka, Tarka Dal, Murgh Tikka Masala, Jeera Chawal, Lasooni Naan, and Paneer Kulcha. The flavors were rich, authentic, and beautifully balanced, especially the Murgh Tikka Masala and Lasooni Naan, which stood out as favorites. The bhajias were crispy and flavorful, and the Murgh Tikka was perfectly grilled and well-marinated. A couple of areas for improvement: the Mulligatawny Soup could have been seasoned a bit more to bring out its full depth of flavor. Also, the rice in both the Chicken Biryani and Jeera Chawal was slightly undercooked, which affected the texture of otherwise well-spiced dishes. Overall, we had a great experience, and would definitely return for another delicious meal. Namaste offers a lovely taste of India in the heart of Cairo – highly recommended for Indian food lovers!

Wonderful Indian restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food. The only problem is they allow customers to smoke cigarettes. When I asked for a non-smoking area, they gave us a table that wasn’t smoke free at all because they simply don’t have a smoke-free zone. The food was great but what good is it if you come out of the restaurant with massive headaches because of rude customers who decide to smoke around you and the restaurant management doesn’t enforce non-smoking policy to keep the profits rolling! I wish Egypt would start to enforce a true no-smoking policy across all public areas like many other countries around the world.

Came here for lunch on Eid as we were in Cairo. We ordered bunch of dishes and the food was fresh and quick. However I would expect the quality to be better. It was just like home cooked meal and didn't feel like we were eating outside. We tried tadka daal (was delicious), lamb rogan josh (tender but basic in taste), kadai vegetable (we could not finish this at all - do not recommend it), jeera aloo (was good) and garlic and butter naan. Naans were amazing and fresh. Had a good decent meal.

The Best location and ambience but most lousy service and food serving. On Feb 8, we wanted to try dinner at best Indian restaurant in Cairo and out of few other options, picked this one based upon high ratings and on the name of Hilton brand. We reached their at 7:30 PM and half the restaurant was empty. Still it took 15 mins for the server to come and take order. Our table had no dinner napkins as other tables. When we asked for it, the server brought paper napkins with an excuse that they ran out of regular cloth napkin. They had cloth napkins on other vacant tables. Then we placed an order for vegetarian dishes (paneer and Malai kofta). We stressed with server that we are strict vegetarian due to religious belief. After 15 minutes, a lady dropped off food dishes without announcing a name of each dish. It is a custom for server to announce each dish he or she is serving in USA and all other countries we visited (also in Luxor and Aswan). After couple of bites from Malai Kofta, we found strange taste. We called the original server and he confirmed that lady made a mistake and served us meat curry dish. We were very upset and got up to leave. Then manager came and said "just a mistake. we can make you another dish". No shame. We left the restaurant and went downstairs to Hilton lobby and requested the Hilton manager. The Hilton manager called restaurant manager downstairs and spoke to him in local language. The Hilton manager had no clue what to do or how to react. No apology either. At that point, we realized that it was not worth wasting our time and we left. As a lifelong vegetarians, it was bit traumatic experience. We are very disappointed with Hilton to allow such a lousy restaurant operator and degrading their brand name in such touristy place. If you really want to eat best Indian dinner, go to Moghul at Marriot Mena House in Giza. Heard lots of good thing about Indira Indian Restaurant in Cairo. Wish we had never gone to Hilton and its lousy Indian restaurant. Sorry for long review, but do not want this people to ruin other people's once in a lifetime...

DISCLAIMER - Be Aware of Fake Reviews. I found many fake reviews, so try not to fall into their trap.

I assisted my friend in ordering Indian food since she is a big fan of Indian food and always try while travelling. But after listening to her experience of having dinner here, it is the same as an unexpected nightmare.

The following reason I would like to list here about experience -

  1. The food was not at all good in taste. To be precise, the food was not at all in condition to eat for a normal human being. It was too salty to eat one bite of it. (Even Can't finish all the food due to bad taste)
  2. the staff behaviour was awful. They were behaving like they were serving food free of cost. And their attitude was very disgusting- they wanted my friend to eat and go go quickly.
  3. My friend did not finish the food, and the staff came to clean the table. I don't know which country's presidential election he was going to contest 🤷
  4. the only thing my friend liked about the restaurant and could enjoy was water because it was not made or cooked or packed by them.
  5. I would not deny the class of ambience of place, but the pathetic behaviour of the staff and the staff themselves made it awful. 6)the restaurant name is 'Namaste" and it is a word from Hindi, Indian people use it as greeting at the time they meet or leave. The meaning of the word is I bow and pay respect to the inner good of you. But sadly I have to say that not a single person obey this term and made felt very disrespectful.
  6. After 12 hours of having food in this restaurant, my friend is having stomach ache and diarrhoea. She even doesn't feel good at all even after 48 hours. So keep your health in priority and avoid going there.

Conclusively, I would suggest do go to this place if you are in good mood or want to enjoy your time and the occasion. And I expect some decency from the owner that he or she will put a little effort into making staff behave well...

we found this amazing Indian restaurant that outdid the Indian food we've had, even better than some places back in the UK! We ended up going there for dinner three nights in a row, and let me tell you about our experience.

On the first night, things started okay. There was this tall waiter who didn't seem too thrilled to see us, a group that looked Indian. He squeezed us into a small table, barely enough for the four of us. Even though the place wasn't busy, he seemed hesitant to take our additional orders, which was a bit off-putting. But the rest of the crew, especially a guy named Gamel Abdel and another friendly, shorter waiter, really made up for it with their smiles and excellent service.

The next night, we found ourselves at another snug table. But this time, Gamel Abdel recognized us and brought over some free milkshakes for the kids, which was a sweet touch! The service felt more welcoming and attentive than the day before.

By the third night, it felt like we were old friends. Gamel Abdel greeted us with such joy, and the service was top-notch from start to finish.

Now, let's talk about the food – delicious! Every dish was bursting with flavours, the lasuni naan needs special mention. Biryani was an exception and was just passable. The prices are a bit high relatively, but it's worth it for the great food, lovely atmosphere, and kind staff.

Big shout out to Gamel Abdel, the short waiter, and the manager for making our dining...
