We stayed here for one night in Jan 2025 before our flight back home. From outside, it's difficult to guess that it's a hotel. There is a small signboard, and the entrance to the building and taking the elevator to the lobby on the second floor makes you question your life choices. Once you're in the lobby, you do finally feel like it's a hotel you booked. It's a boutique hotel with brightly painted walls, antique furniture, and rooms that are named after ancient Egyptian Gods, which is a nice touch. Rooms are spacious and clean. Our bed was comfortable, but the extra bed in the room was almost falling apart with a bend in the middle. The bathroom is huge with a large bathtub. Hot water in the wash basin kept going hot by itself, and I burned myself twice with scalding hot water. It takes a bit of figuring out and being careful. We were in the Amun Ra room, and traffic noise was so much that it felt like you're sitting on the street. You can hear the cars and honking all-night-long! I am a light sleeper and had to use my noise canceling headphones just to be able to sleep at night. For this reason alone, I would not want to stay here again or be able to recommend the hotel. They really need to work on soundproofing the room. The other issue with the hotel room was mosquitoes. We got bitten multiple times and my kids neck, face arms were covered with mosquito bites. The one benefit was that the hotel was minutes away from the Egyptian Museum, and that made it convenient to visit the museum.

No direction to hotel after paid for non refundable booking, took uber, no sign on the front building or street shown name of the hotel, no neighbors even knew this hotel exist. Finally stranger on the street helped to make phone call to the hotel, got into the building, small dirty narrow elevator to 2nd floor on the corner, finally see the sign of the hotel. Nice room especially in photos, but unable to rest, floor is old, shower only good for one person use, I was wet dirty, no warm water under the shower. Unable to turn on the TV, first hair dryer broken, have to ask the second one, water draining dripping in the toilet, one mosquito and people talking loud ( poor insulation) from receptionist made us restless night. What an awful night! Next day, need nothing, fine. Young guys from Receptionist always smiling and tried to help if anything, ac fully functioning. Closed to Nile river boat, Cairo tower, very nice views after walk through crazy traffic. I Got what I paid for. For further information guest, I took a photo of the building, for you to find your way to the hotel easier.

I stayed here for 3 nights in 3 different rooms (booked separately by accident). I’d recommend the elite double, called hathor, if it’s available, as it’s quite spacious and aesthetic. Other rooms were significantly smaller, with the smallest room not even fitting my open carry on suitcase. The front desk manager was super helpful in answering my questions, helping store luggage, exchanging currency, etc. The Wi-Fi was somewhat spotty and shower pressure / temperature was not consistent, but these things are to be expected for downtown Cairo. Location is perfect as you’ll be steps away from the Egyptian museum and a quick walk to Tahrir Square, which is a central area with a lot of restaurants and shops. It can be a bit hard to find the entrance as it’s in a super old building with a janky elevator but there’s usually a nice butler who greets guests.

So this is going to be sort of long because I want to offer a balanced review. Background: I am an American female who traveled solo. I stayed at two different hotels while in Egypt, and this was my second hotel. I not only stayed here, but I also booked two different tours through this hotel. I felt safe at all times while staying at the hotel and during all my tour experiences. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Hotel Service: 5 STARS! The staff at the hotel, especially Said, was EXTREMELY helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate me. They picked up and stored my luggage for me while I went on an overnight trip and did not charge for this. When I arrived from my overnight trip to check in, my luggage was there waiting fully intact with no problems. I was not supposed to check in until 2pm, but the staff saw I was tired and allowed me to go into the room until my tour started. The room had not been cleaned yet because it was so early, but I was grateful to have a place to rest for a few hours. I was panicked when I discovered I needed a new PCR COVID test in order to return home, and they helped me get to a testing location. My guide went with me and helped make sure the testing process went smoothly and it did! The staff also helped me order food delivery to the hotel. I was able to pay $15USD for airport drop off, which I did not mind, but my first hotel offered free pickup/dropoff. Either way, I highly recommend this hotel based on the service alone! Rooms: 4 Stars. The hotel itself is located on the third floor of a building and did not have any outside markers that I could see, but there is a sign once you get to the third floor. It is small but nicely decorated and themed with ancient Egyptian Gods. I had a museum view room. It was nicely cleaned and had a TV, mini fridge, and heat/AC unit. The bathroom also had an individual hot water heater with extremely HOT water. The bed was comfy. Room is very noisy with all the sounds from the street/traffic. They also did not serve breakfast because they said it was due to COVID, but the first hotel I stayed at still served breakfast. Tours: 4 Stars. I booked two tours through this hotel: Ain Sokhna and Cairo in Two Days. Ain Sokhna tour was a bit underwhelming for me. Most tours are set up with a driver and guide, but this one had just a driver who drove me out to Ain Sokhna and checked me into their partner “resort”. There are no activities for you out there other than swim. I thought there might be boating or shopping or something else, but there is not. The sea water is beautiful though! The resort itself seemed a bit in shambles as compared to some of the other resorts we passed by on our way there, but the staff was nice and the lunch was very good. I’m not into swimming, so I came back early. My driver was nice but spoke very little English, but we were able to communicate using Google Translate. If I could do it over, I would not have booked this tour. The staff later told me there are other cities on the Red Sea that have more activities, so if that’s what you’re looking for, I would suggest do your research. Cairo in Two Days: This was a good tour. I had a driver and guide with this tour. The tour does not include admission to places but admission is relatively inexpensive with the exception of the Giza pyramids. When we got to the pyramids, I was offered three choices ranging from approximately $50 USD- $150 USD (with camel or horse rides included). There were some times when I felt my guide was a bit rushed but other times I was allowed additional time explore alone. Other guides I had for different tours booked through different companies were also more helpful to me when it came to shopping and negotiating prices. My guide helped some but was not as helpful as some of the others I had. However, my guide and driver helped me get tested for COVID and pick up my results. The evening Nile River cruise, Egyptian Museum, and Saqqara...

Thank goodness I have chosen this extremely beautiful and affordable hotel right in front of the big Egyptian Museum of Cairo!! I only need to walk few meters and cross the street to get in! However crossing that street is extremely dangerous the cars never stop the flow!! All people have to jaywalk in order to get on the other side!! And as I was coming back home to the hotel and crossing the road one car on purpose speed up and drove in my direction as if to hit me. The sentiment of Egyptian people towards Caucasians is not good these days because of the Palestine victims, any Caucasian looks like a war criminal to some of the Egyptian Islamists. I really think one needs to take care. that's why it was really wonderful to have chosen this hotel and the staff, all of them were so kind and so helpful to order food online on the Egyptian app and when my credit card could not go through they helped me complete the payment in cash. Depending on your plan, breakfast might be included and it was nice! there is choice between local and western type. Room suite is extremely beautiful and clean with a beautiful bathroom and has all amenities that you might need. although from outside it's not easy to understand that it is a hotel since the suite rooms are on two floors inside a larger building that does not have "Hotel" displayed outside. It's really the best place to stay when you want to focus on visiting one of the most amazing museums in the world! And since I had the CAIRO PASS, I could go the museum everyday again and again without waiting in line. At the end of the trip the hotel prepared for me a shuttle car for the airport and it was great!! much better than an Uber that might not be able to find you in that crazy traffic. I ordered food from one of the great restaurants and since the Hotel provides microwave, I could warm it up and keep the rest in my fridge in my room, which was very helpful to avoid going out to eat. Ancient Egypt has left so many treasures and I'm very happy that I did not cancel the trip because of the current war situation but I must warn caucasians that it is not a joke and the people sentiment on the street is negative at times, it is best to blend in, not wear shorts and sexy outfits and not stand out, rather get from AliExpress some men's/women's Long Islamic outfits "thawb" / "abaya"+"hijab" and wear those for your safety. Once again thanks to the hotel and the wonderful staff there, it was very beautiful and safe to be there, will definitely stay again when visiting the...

One of the best places to stay in Downtown Cairo and the best Hotel we stayed in so far. This hotel was a lucky punch with really affordable prices specially for a hotel in this kind of category in this historical environment. The rooms are clean and will be cleaned if you request it every day. The bathroom are equipped with towels, bathing shoes, free shampoo, shower gel and soap and it have really hot water if it's needed and all in it work properly so you will not wish anything more while your stay. If you need you can book a breakfast for a small amount of money with traditional or european stile food. A laundry service is available too and we used it twice. Every room is also equipped with a Kettle and some tee and coffee so it was perfect for all our needs. We had a beautiful equipped room aemed hathor and it was very quiet. By the way the AC worked really well. We also joined one of the luxurious suites for some days that will give you a beautiful view to the museum and show you the real way of life in Cairo as a City that never sleeps. If i compare it to the hotels i already stayed in then it realy was the best one we could find in Cairo and we where very happy about it. All members of the staff where always unbelievable friendly, helpful and make this stay for me and my wife to feel like we had a home. This was our first stay in this hotel in the last month for about two weeks and it will not be the last. So when i alone had to come back this month to cairo it was sure for me to stay again in this Hotel and the staff make my stay great again. Thanks to all of you from deep of our heart for all this unforgettable time. We came as guest and found friends and a place to call home. There are many more expensive hotels that will not offer you this kind of atmosphere and service you can found here. I highly recommend it to all future visitors of...
