NUBA ONE — Hotel in Elephantine Island

Great little guesthouse located just a little inward from the river on the west bank of Elephantine Island. Fully equipt with all the amenities you need to feel comfortable. The apartment has two rooms which are rented out - one room with three single beds and the other with two larger singles. The place feels very homely, is quiet and one of the more wallet friendly places to stay on the island. It was also the only place I had a mosquito free night's sleep!

Kazem, our host, is very welcoming and friendly AND, to our joy and appreciation, the only person who did NOT try to push other services on us, like falucca or drugs, throughout our adventures around Egypt. Kazem lives just above the apartment but is never in your way, so you really get a good sense of privacy, space and peace.

I'd definitely stay here again should I ever find...

We loved our stay at Nuba One and we wish we could stay longer ❤️ This is the most “like at home” place we had in Egypt. The owner is very welcoming, heart-warming person and great host. He made sure that we have fresh towels and linen during our stay, the bathroom was always spotless with a supply of soap and toilet paper. The apartment is really well equipped with all needed kitchen utensils and also free coffee, tea and spices, there is an iron and the ironing board, hairdryer and even washing machine and washing powder free of charge with the space outside to put the laundry. Wow! 😍 The bathroom is shared but there are only two rooms so its never crowded and if you are lucky you may end up to have all space for yourself if the other room...

We had a great time at this guesthouse. The bedroom is spacious and has both air conditioning and a ceiling fan. There is a kitchen and lounge area with free tea and coffee along with a seating area and a cooker, hob and fridge freezer. Everything is very clean. There is a lovely balcony upstairs with seating and a view of the Nile. There’s space to hang clothes to dry. There is even a washing machine you can use! The location is quiet and peaceful.

The owner Kassem is very friendly and welcoming and he speaks good English. He made sure we had everything we needed.
