This was our first stop in our trip to Egypt and we were so impressed.
TLDR: There is no better place to stay in Aswan.
Muhammed, the host, turned out to be way more than just a host. He assisted us with the bookings of all our trips and helped us navigate Aswan. If you have any questions or would like assistance with bookings ask Muhammed. He arranged our pick-up from the Aswan Airport and our transfer from Aswan to Luxor. The prices he proposed are very fair.
With regards to the rooms, it was clean and spacious and we even had our own small balcony. It is not a 5* hotel, but it is a very nice guest house that really gives you a Egyptian living experience.
Esra, our Hostess, was wonderfully friendly. She prepared our breakfast every morning and we were made to feel part of the family.
The Elephantine Island is very safe and you can walk from one point to the other in between houses without any problems. There is a public ferry that takes you from and to the island throughout the day at a fee of 10EGP per person. There is no need to take a private boat.
The people on the island (and Egypt in general) are very friendly. Many want to sell you something, but if you say no with a smile they will not hassle you to much and you might strike up a fun conversation.
Please do yourself a favour and stay at this...
Read moreBest accomodation I experienced in Egypt. Extremely clean, well managed guesthouse with a very loving and welcoming family. They will get you even if you arrive at 3am in the morning and organize a boat crossing for you onto the island. The breakfast was very nice, very nourishing and the tenant made us sandwiches for our 4am trip to Abu Simbel and even came to wake us up on time. All in all the best place to stay in Aswan. The place is very new and the bathroom was a paradise to us after a long trip through Egypt! They have a common kitchen and living room, all new. The owners are a family who also co-manage a restaurant called Ali Bob Marley where we had all our meals on the island - they were succulent and you always get a hospitality egyptian tagine served extra.
From the place and the restaurant the views on the Nile and the boats are amazing and will certainly be a major memory of the trip. On the island you have access to an archaeological site, a museum and several nilometers used by the ancient egyptians. The locals are very welcoming and we loved hanging out and playing football and various children’s games with the kids in...
Read moreI would totally recommend this guest house. The owner is exceptionally nice and took care of all of our needs. The location is great for being right next to the hussel of the city. The rooms were really good and with air conditioning. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was recommendable. The Jamaica King restaurant belonging to the same owner has exceptional food and really good ambience. We did great organized tours to the Nubian Village, the botanical Garden Abu Sim El and the communication was always exceptional. I would recommend this guest house to absolutely anybody staying in the area and would also recommend to stay a couple of nights...
