Pls stay away from this poor dirty place. These are very poor versions of a guest house in a run down part of Nuba. An old man essentially manages the place and he has no sense of proprietary knocking and barging into rooms at 11:30 nite when 2 girls and sleeping being the least of it. The bathrooms are never cleaned and we got changed to another room where the scene was the same. U will find hair from previous guests, we asked them to clean the shower area which was clogged with the previous guest dirt and hair so that we cld bath. The showers in both bathrooms were broken and if u take one, water will eventually overflow into the bedroom area. In both our rooms this was the case.|We were given this place as part of a group tour and it was over all the dirtiest place I have ever stayed in my life. After sleeping in their bed, my body broke out in rashes probably coz the sheets are also dirty. Their breakfast is supposedly served by 7 am but we never got served at 7 am coz people are still sleeping praying cooking. Breakfast is a sparse small serving kind of buffet style where the old man will cook 2 eggs rough omelet style for approx 4 people, a bowl of foul beans and some mayonnaise mixed carrots and onions with Egyptian bread. Also it’s kept so poorly that cats usually lick and eat from the open plates and it was our job to always shoo them away to keep it safe for other guests. |We had to go to Abu Simbel and the old man gave us a.l breakfast box which was pathetic and had stale bread, stinking old cheese, one boiled egg and a small pouch of jam. The most edible of them was the box juice that was with it. |Do not stay here and pls book elsewhere. The transportation to this pathetic place is also difficulty. The old man who manages this place doesn’t speak decent English and he wanted to kiss my sister and me on our heads as a sorry for knocking our door and waking us up at 11:30 pm nite for paying him dollars for Abu Simbel trip which we had already paid the tour guy. Even if he is like 150 yrs old we are girls from India with a very traditional set of cultures and values and were shocked at his sense of familiarity. |Stay somewhere else in Aswan if u must visit Aswan. Yuck place with no sense of...
Read moreI just came back from a 5 nights stay at the Ibiza house in Aswan and this place was amazing. It has spectacular views of the Nile River. The house was fully equipped with a water heater, stove, refrigerator and it has one air conditioner in the inside living area which also conditions the two bedrooms if you leave the bedrooms doors open. 1 bedroom has a double bed and a swinging chair and the other bedroom has two single beds. There multiple build in sofas which can be used as sleeping spaces as well. The apartment in total can accommodate 8 persons. 2 in each bedroom and 4 on the sofas. It has an LCD and a satellite receiver but there is no Wifi.
The house in on an island as you can see in the map, to get in and out of the city, you use a ferry boat which is really cheap ( 1 EGP two ways if you are a resident of the island) or 1 EGP one way if you are just visiting.
To get the ferry board you need to walk to the other side of the island which is a 6 minutes walk.
There is a small market on the island beside the ferry boat. You can buy bread, cheese, milk, tea, coffee . . . and such basic stuff from there so that you don't have to go to the city for breakfast needs.
Mr.Ragab who is taking care of the house and operating a cafe / restaurant in the ground floor of the building is a very kind person and will take of all your needs. Weather you need a sail boat, motor board or a micro bus for local touring or you need to consult him for your vacation program. He will do that for you with pleasure.
I really recommend this place for anyone who is not expecting a 5 stars place / service and who knows the real value of staying in such houses over staying in...
Read moreStaying at Ekadolli Nubian was one of the highlights of our Aswan trip. We had a memorable experience at the guesthouse and will always remember Mr Khaled’s hospitality. ||First off, the guesthouse is quite far away from the main city of Aswan so it’s perfect if you’re looking for some peace and quiet. Mr Khaled, the owner and manager is always happy to offer you a ride to the city in his car so that’s not a problem. We were a little worried about transport but he took us to the city. There’s also local transport available which is much cheaper than taxi. ||Our room was large and well furnished with clean bathrooms. The view from the rooftop is incredible and overlooks the Nile and the city. The food is homemade by the cooks who do a good job of serving you local cuisine - our meals were delicious although a tad expensive. But everything was fresh. The staff are extremely polite and well behaved. Mr Khaled is always there on the roof and we found him a friendly and generous host. He arranged the trip to Abu Simbel for us and it was very reasonable price. ||Overall staying at the Nubian guesthouse was a very happy experience and I would recommend it to all. Enjoy the hospitality and good food on offer...
