Dolphin Camp — Hotel in South Sinai

Just stayed there with my two brothers for two nights. Place is cosy and loved the atmosphere. Hamdy is very nice and friendly; he responded kindly to our requests without any hint of complaining or contempt. We didn't like the first room, as it had a very foul smell coming from the bathroom, and bathroom wall looked dented. So we asked him to change it and he immediately offered us another one and made sure we liked it. We requested soft blankets because we are allergic and he happily brought us ones and didn't leave until he made sure we didn't need something else. He also welcomed my criticism and suggestions to update their services and let people know about the unavailability of fridges in each room, but he said that is why they decreased their prices until they install new ones.

My concerns are as follows: I didn't like the smell of the disinfectant, when it is strong, it smells like roaches. Their power sockets did not support three pin power connectors, I already brought a convertor with me, but it didn't stick and would nearly fall off. Our room didn't have a cupboard like the previous one but it had drawers. I like that they included a boiler but I wish they put a power socket near it, so we didn't have to put it in the...

Pros: The location of the hotel is nice. It's close to the main market area of Dahab so you can walk to all of the shops and restuarants easily. Despite this, the property and rooms are still pretty quiet so you can relax away from the noise if you want to. They offer a discount for the Dive centre that is attached, which is a good deal if you're interested in diving. The staff at the hotel are all very polite and helpful. They were also accommodating of us needing to stay an extra day and gave us another room for that time.

Cons: Some of the facilities at the hotel could use better upkeep. The door handle for our bathroom was broken and our room on the last day didn't have a place to hang wet clothes. The breakfast tie up that they have at the restuarant next door provides you with a discount on the items at the restuarant...except for the breakfast items, which seems to defeat the purpose a bit. The hotel does have a small beachfront space on the opposite side from the rooms, but the sea in that area seemed a bit rough and not great...

Loved the stay. The room is chilly by day when it's warm outside, and warm by night when it's freezing outside. Minimalist, clean, and very cute. Shared bathrooms are exceptionally clean, they always smell great, could've swappd for a room with a private bathroom but didn't feel the need to. Don't expect to cook here. Kitchen is not equipped except for tea maybe and a fridge, didn't feel that affected my stay in any way though. Seaview right upfront, which is super amazing. Just grab your mat and drink/food and sit down. A band in the coffeeshop opposite always play every night, I personally love it. They're great and I can shake my head to the music right in my room. Hamdy is super nice and welcoming, can make arrangements for anything you'd like to do in Dahab. Worth every penny. I'll definitely come back in...
