My first solo trip was to Dahab and I can only advise this hostel if you like to hang out at the terrace, meet new people and get a diving course. I immediately bonded with the staff and other travelers and felt at home. A few nights flew by and I had to visit again before I left Sinai.
The staff was so helpful as to get me a taxi late at night and let me find my way to the dorm. I experienced the mixed females dorm and the deluxe females, I always felt comfortable and tried not disturb others, most people are so tired they just knock out, to be honest! There were clean sheets and drawers to keep my belongings. Bathroom is mixed, there are a few spots and sometimes I had to fun waiting while listening to people sing in the shower and music playlists, haha. Breakfast is included, the cook at the time was really nice, he would always ask people if they are hungry and want to have a bite, quickly preparing the food while chatting with you. On my first evening I helped prepare dinner and for such, enjoyed a free tasty meal, followed by a familiar party with hang out, music and professional dancers!
The second time I tried the first scuba diving class in Octopus Divers with a discount, the instructor Abdul made me feel safe and took me as deep as I wanted, also took some pics with my GPH, so it was a positive experience. Everything I needed, Ihab and other crew members helped me out with, from information, to hang outs and contacts, even when I was not staying in the hostel. I will always come back, Dahab is magical and My...
Read moreIt’s an amazing place and a definite recommendation. It was my first time solo traveling within Egypt and I couldn’t have picked a more perfect place. Positives: The atmosphere was welcoming and it felt like being at home. The rooms were clean and well airconditioned. Comfortable beds with a convenient socket next to each one. The staff and owner are one of a kind. Incredibly helpful and friendly. They assist with any enquiries immediately and help you plan your Dahab trip if you want. The prices are really good and you definitely get your value worth out of your stay. The affordable price even includes a lovely oriental breakfast. The location is perfect. Central to everything you need. A few steps away from the beach and a walk away from any other service you might need during your stay. There is a quiet workspace with good wifi for the working traveler. The rooftop is by far the best this place has to offer. It’s a cozy place were people can hang, listen to music, exchange cultures and experiences and find like minded people. I walked away with a tight group of new friends. Negative: The only negative would be the mixed bathrooms. So be prepared for that if this is something that you do not prefer. Though the bathrooms themselves are moderately clean. And you can opt for a slightly more expensive dorm with its own bathroom. All in all I definitely will be staying there...
Read moreI went to Dahab on a solo trip for a week and stayed at My Hostel, will do the same next time I'm going!
The place is very clean, the dorms are spacious and the beds are equipped with curtains, which is great. The AC works perfectly well, which hasn't always been the case in other hostels and hotels I've stayed at. The location is perfect, with all the restaurants and supermarkets you'll need close by. And obviously the price is very attractive.
Can't say enough good things about the staff members! They're all so dedicated to their customers, always making sure that we're okay, and they greet every single one of us with such warmth. They're super kind and it was fun to spend time with them. They will make you feel welcome for sure. They're also very arranging and will help you with any logistics, like a taxi ride to and from the airport.
The rooftop is a nice place to hangout and you'll meet so many good fellow travellers. If you wish to spend some time alone, that's no issue, the place is big enough and every body will understand. Overall, such a fun, chill, and positive atmosphere at this hostel, I had a great time!
Can't speak about the breakfast though, as it starts at 8am and I was always gone before that.
