Eco Del Mar — Hotel in Departamento de La Libertad

Eco del Mar is a bit more expensive than many of the more hostel-dorm places in El Tunco, but if you are looking for a bit more comfort and space then well worth the extra.||||Recommend that you book a room on the second floor as they are a bit more secluded and the wooden balconies are beautifully constructed. Each room though is pretty big, enough to sleep 2-4 people, and come with a fridge and small cooking area. They all have a bit of balcony space with hammock to collapse in at the end of the day. Air-con inside the room is very good.||||Roberto - fluent English speaking chap from El Salvador - runs the place well, the staff were all friendly and helpful, and they were very flexible with changes to our booking. Roberto also had great advice on where to surf and who the best surf teachers in town are. ||||The only issue can be noise - we had 3 good nights' sleep, and one night where the world's worst Karaoke duo decided to serenade the town into the early hours. Roberto was very apologetic about it next day but there was not really much he can do. If you stay anywhere in El Tunco and are a light sleeper, worth bringing proper ear-plugs.||||Top tip - if you are looking for someone to teach you to surf, ask Roberto to call Carlos. One of the most genuinely kind, passionate, positive people I met on my travels - all qualities that you will want in a teacher when you are learning to surf!||||Overall great experience and would come back and stay...

We stayed here from March 28 2025 to March 31 2025. We were lucky enough to have the 2 rooms on the main floor. We arrived around 11:00 pm due to a later flight. Our rooms were obviously ready. They were very clean and we were very happy at how big they were. It had all amenities needed, small fridge, sink, microwave, toaster oven. The breakfast in the morning was very good . The staff here were fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. The owner was in contact with us via email which was appreciated. He responded to us immediately when we had a question. The landscape of the hotel was very beautiful and scenic. We loved the little pool and the vibe of the hotel. It was near everything and you didnt have to walk far to get anything.
