PARGOS Restaurante y Hotel — Hotel in Departamento de La Libertad

This place is very well run. There’s a security guard when you first drive onto the premises. There’s another security guard up top by reception. There are waiters and waitresses walking around the restaurant at all times. They all seem to have headsets/radios to stay in contact with each other.

The hotel is right in the heart of El Tunco, right on the boardwalk. I got one of the basic rooms down at the bottom, because they were such a good price. They have some nice double king suites with an ocean view up top but those were more like $200+ a night. My room was $80 per night and I had full access to the hotel. The pool was nice and you could watch people surfing from it. The view from the terrace was also beautiful. I received two complementary breakfasts per morning, to be used at the Boca Olas restaurant that is less than a 5 minute walk away. Breakfast was very enjoyable. Overall this was a good value for the stay, especially if you were staying in one of the double queens at the bottom of the property, when you first drive on. You are able to hear some traffic on the nearby road, especially the big trucks when they’re breaking going downhill. This did wake me once or twice, but I was able to go right back to sleep so it didn’t have a negative effect on my rest. If you’re a particularly light sleeper, this is something to...

Beautiful view and great service. We went for a sunset dinner which I highly recommend, then you can walk down the street to El Tunco beach bars like Kakos and La Bonita.

Parking is validated but $3 otherwise, so if you plan on staying for nightlife, I recommend leaving your car here for free parking if you’ve eaten here.

However, I was extremely disappointed with the octopus. It was honestly the worst octopus I’ve ever had. It wasn’t fresh, had no flavor, was really oily, and had a horrible texture.

The sukirones (shrimp appetizer) was yummy and I loved the avocado sauce it was served with, and it was served in a seashell which was a great touch.

The drinks were good and reasonably priced as to be expected throughout the country.

We had a great room with an ocean view, very clean and the staff was very friendly, professional and accommodating!! We had some drinks and appetizers in the restaurant and our server Juan Lopez was professional and absolutely fantastic!!! The staff went above and beyond to make sure experience was incredible. The management team was superb , I would definitely recommend this place!!!
