Maya Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

Our short visit here was left much to be desired. Upon arrival, we were met with unwelcoming hostility as I was abruptly shouted at while trying to get a glimpse inside the restaurant. Despite our polite inquiry about table availability, the response from the waitress was less than welcoming, tinged with annoyance as she had to clean the table.

We patiently waited for approximately 15 minutes by the bar, while the waitress cleaned the table, unable to purchase drinks due to the staff's busyness. Observing the overwhelming workload of the 2 occupied staff, we decided to explore other dining options. However, upon expressing our decision to leave, the waitress response was disappointingly rude and sarcastic because they had to clean a table. I mean you should be cleaning tables after customers have finished, it's a given.

While I understand the challenges of understaffing and the possibility of having a bad day, it's disheartening when such frustrations are taken out on customers, especially when met with politeness...

Alright so I wanted to go this place for about a year now, but it never happened, but I finally did go, and I have to say I didn't regret it at all. We started with two starters which were quesadilla and tacos. The Quesadilla were vegetarian and were absolutely delicous. It had spinach mushrooms and cheese. Super!! The Tacos were not bad. It had chicken, the taste was good but not fabulous. Then for the main courses we had a meal for two which was 500 grams steak and a lot of herbs abd vegetables. The steak was fine but I have had better. The sauce for the steak was fantastic. The whole experience was really nice. We had another entrecote steak, vut was ordered welldone which is bot my cup of cake (welldone). However the meat was very tasty. The service however, could have been much better. The waiter...

Have to say this was one of the biggest disappointments that I've had in recent history with restaurants. It was the "Eat with 10 euros" discount campaign that Helsinki has few times a year, so not the most premium of dishes, but the tortillas were super hard, they just cracked like tacos when you tried to eat them, full of cheese, barely any chicken and the taste was just cheese and more cheese and then some cheese.

They had some local craft beer, but sadly it was so old that I could not drink it and they did not have a replacement for it so I just left it there.

Other ate dessert too, which seemed to be the best part of their menu.

Service was ok.
