On arrival at the hotel we were faced with large signs advertising The Porsche Experience and a rather expensive looking Porsche in the foyer. It was a rather surreal experience to arrive at a residential hotel and feel that you just stepped into a rather upmarket car showroom. There were also more Porsche personnel in their distinctive skiwear than hotel staff. Everything appeared to be geared to rather wealthy people living their dreams. Not only had Porsche substituted an expensive car for the usual guest soft furnishings it had also commandeered a glass walled room which later investigation confirmed was a quiet area where 'normal' guests usually could sit, read and look at the view. The reception area because of these changes was critically short of seating - just a few easy chairs and some hard seating. Additionally Porsche had been allocated an area above the restaurant which normally hotel guests could utilise. Obviously the hotel management had approved these changes which extend from early January until late March for financial reasons. Hotel management should also consider the needs of those visitors who regularly patronise the hotel for their hard earned holidays rather than pandering to those with unlimited resources. The hotel was pleasant although sometimes room cleaning was a little bit and miss. Room thermostats do not control temperature within the rooms as this is set centrally but not advertised. We were cool on occasion and when I asked was advised that the room temperature was set at 24C. Even for accomodation within the Arctic Circle this would have been excessively warm. Despite the alleged temperature we were provided with an oil filled radiator as were the guests in the next room who also felt cool. One final comment we booked a superior room - slightly larger than a standard. We had an internal clothes drying cabinet which is possibly not fitted in a standard but otherwise the rooms are broadly similar. How strange is it that superior rooms overlook the carpark with just the view of some trees which border the property yet the standard rooms mostly face the ski slopes appear to have far reaching views over Lapland. We had an enjoyable time at the Panorama but would not stay there again. Last year we stayed at the Panorama's sister hotel, the K5, which is not as conveniently located but nonetheless provided excellent...
Read moreJust for the record the TUI staff are fantastic and the trip was a memorable one. ||However the Levi Panorama has really disapppointed me more so due to the lies and deception. |Positives - The Bar and restraunt staff at the hotel are fantastic, breakfast is great and so are the other food offerings but dinner is expensive so i would go into Levi for that. The location of the hotel is amazing with great views but im afraid for my stay this is where the plus points end.|The room we originally booked was standard but we decided to upgrade to a Family superior room. which we called the hotel and booked with no issues. ||However on check in this was no longer available and they said we were being upgraded to a Deluxe room. Now the reason we want a family superior was to have the seprate area so that we as a family could sleep well they said this was an upgrade as the room had a Sauna (which we werent really bothered about) but when i checked their website you can clearly see in the listings that the deluxe is not as large lower on the list of room options, and i base my upgrades on quality and and space.|So thinking we were better off we accepted the room however when we got to room it was smaller, the safe didnt work, the shower sceen was loose and could have came off at anytime and the door trim was falling off around the Sauna door. ||We reported this to the front desk whom said the room was an upgrade and that they would get maintenance to fix the issues, of which none of them were done. We asked the Tui rep to help and they tried but they got the same lies from the front desk. It was clear that the room wasnt really an upgrade as what we actually paid for and we had been sold short then lied to. As it Christmas and the hotel was full they were more concerned with helping other nationalities than us which soured what was meant to be a memorbale occasion. |However i cannot say enough good things about TUI and the reps whom made sure everything else about our stay was fantastic.||Take my advice and dont stay here if you want bad front desk service, they simply do not care or want to help. I will return to Levi as its an amazing place but i will stay elsewhere and save my money. If you cannot honour what people have booked then you shouldnt be charging extra for an upgrade...
Read moreOur family of six stayed in Hotel Panorama between 28/12/22 to 4/01/23. Our third family visit to Levi. Fantastic location on the ski slope above Zero Point. We booked direct and received free lift passes which are definitely required. Four of us stayed in a fabulous Sky Suite, a very large 2 bedroom suite with glorious views of the slops, across Levi and beyond. We even experienced the Northern Lights from our room for over 5 hours - photos attached. Food was average for Levi, but don’t expect fine cuisine dining, it’s not that type of vacation. General service was ok, room cleaned well, reception was a little disappointing for a higher quality hotel, functional and informative but also somewhat short and blunt. This would have been a four or five star stay but for being charged twice for our rooms at over 6000 euros. We we called unexpectedly at Kittila airport to be told that we hadn’t paid for our rooms and could we please pay immediately. We did question this and stated that we normally pay in advance for our stays and was she sure, as the lady spoke with authority and as we were feeling rather embarrassed we quickly logged online and transferred over €3000 to the hotel, before departing the airport. On arriving back home we were then told that there had indeed been a mistake, we had indeed paid in advance and had now paid twice for our stay. It then took two weeks to get the overpayment of over €3100 refunded to our account. Minutes to debit and weeks to credit. Shame as this negative experience wasn’t needed or justified and tarnished what was a good vacation, so hence we can only...
