LYS MARTAGON — Hotel in Albertville

I cannot even express the beauty and ambience of this boutique hotel. From the moment you enter the door you can tell there was not a detail untouched. From the design and decorations to the coziness of the place, you can call this your home away from home. Seriously, only 7 rooms, it does feel like one big home! And the pool....wait until you see it! I loved our room #4 as it had a fireplace that was both in the bedroom and bathroom so you could take a cozy bath and watch the fire or snuggle in bed with a pop up tv. I loved the service the most! I called for coffee and it was at the door in less than 3 min! The concierge staff didn't miss a beat, and I want to especially thank Samuel for coordinating the most amazing wedding for us! Every night we had dinner reservations, even at the hottest and hardest places to get into and we always had the best seat in the house. The team can coordinate everything for you from transfers, to private ski lessons, helicopter rides, to private flights. We didn't need to worry about a thing and only focus on having the time of our lives. I have to say it was hard to leave this place. I really felt at home. All of the staff know you by name and even the housekeeping couldn't wait to congratulate us on our marriage. We also loved that it was so small that you were able to get to know the other guests, which all come from interesting places in this world. We have traveled to Courchevel many times and have stayed in most of the best hotels there. Last year (2022), by chance, we found a new hotel, Lys Martagon, and decided to book here. We can now never stay at another hotel anywhere in the world without comparing it to this luxury hotel as we have been completely spoiled here. First of all, the staff are all absolutely outstanding. They all make you feel like this is your very own private chalet! It takes a team to make everything perfect but Mr Alexis (Deputy Manager) and Mr Samuel (Concierge) deserve a special thanks for always looking after us. The whole team is just so accommodating and they all make you feel as though they can never do enough for you. The hotel is a ski-in, ski-out, which we love. The rooms are great in size, so cozy and comfy, extremely clean. The hotel is stunning inside and out with such pretty artwork. We look forward each morning to our breakfast in the gorgeous dining area enjoying the mountain views. This year we were thinking to go to a different ski resort but honestly because of the hotel, we returned for a ski trip again here this year (Feb 2023) and already booked our trip with Lys for 2024! I am not the kind of person to write comments, but the experience that we had, having dinner at this new hotel, was absolutely extraordinary. ||First, you have to visit the «Prohibition Bar», a place with a lot of personality and where the barman is full of flavorful surprises. I said the kind of drink that I normally like, and he did the most wonderful drink that I ever had (something with ginger and smoked whisky).||||In Courchevel you have a lot of excellent restaurants, so it is difficult to get surprised by one in particular. Well, this time was a complete surprise; the food was stunning — from preparation to presentation — really higher than what we were expecting. ||||The drinks and the food in the restaurant were exceptional, but most of all, the entire staff makes you feel really special.
