We stayed at this hotel for a week of ski in January. Its location is very good offerin ski-in ski-out option and just few meters from Jardin Alpin gondola taking you in one minute to Courchevel 1850 center and back from 8:35 am to 7:10 pm each day. On the other hand, the entire hotel needs urgent investment as it looks like no investment has been done for more than 20 years. It really looks dated everywhere (the photos tgey present on booking is clearly deceving), maybe with the exception of the lobby area. Then, the hotel is poorly run - in fact, with very little invetment but with a lot more care, it can look much better. To give you some examples - the shower in the SPA/pool area had no soap/shower gel for more than three days and they finally put it solely when we notified them/also, no drinking water in the area even though there are also 2 saunas there; 5 days out of the 7 we stayed in the hotel, nobody cleaned the sidewalk in front of the hotel and it was almost imposible to walk out of the hotel and in front of it (we had to find each time a narrow path created by the guests feet on a quite big snow)/what is even worse, the situation was almost the same everywhere in this pretended fancy resort, including the sidewalks in front of .... the luxury stores in the middle of tge resort (quite incredible for the prices they practice); the smell on the hotel's corridors was really awful and, instead of opening the doors to ensure ventilation, the used a room spray which solves nothing (we ended up by blocking ourselves the inside doors open in order to ensure ventilation but they kept closing them anyway as if they wanted to keep that awful smell inside)); internet quality is poor in all hotel while the TV channels were mostly not working; the carpet in the hotel seems dirty everywhere; the ski room has very dated facilities (strange old ski stalls and no heating systems for the boots/inside the ski room is warm but without boots heaters your boots will not be necessary dry the next day). Personnel was nice but we felt like there was no management at all at this hotel. A plus to be mentioned was the breakfast, a good one. All in all, an excellent located hotel, though dated and poorly run, very expensive for the...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I arrived at Mamie Courch 2nd Jan 23 excited for our first ski experience on half board..Greeted by the manager Sebastian we were reassured with the running of the hotel which was great. Our first evening we were served our last choices on the menu with a very limited choice to begin with, quite frankly the food was awful. We ended up eating out everyday as a result and paying for the coffee at the bar which had a good machine. The coffee machine in the breakfast room was cheap machine coffee.|Most of the staff are friendly enough but walk around like their at home, some with airPods and beanie hats on, I didn't think eating at the reception desk was very professional. |The hotel is tired, and decor is dated. Rooms in need of modernising, tight and gloomy decor not how they are advertised.|The bathrooms have limescale/mould, and the taps are leaky, sadly the decor lacks any gusto.|House keeping was very basic and lazy failing to leave any water when they turned down the room and much to our annoyance every evening we were going to the bar for a jug of water.|Perks on the other hand include the location next to the ski lifts and the resourceful staff in the ski shop underneath the "hotel". |We also got involved with the brunch on the terrace which was delicious but obviously paid.|Convenient Parking next door at...
Read moreSecond visit as location wins for us - but will now look for alternative.||||Staff - on the whole very nice and helpful - but untrained and generally confused most of the time. Receptionists in particular have no understanding of their own booking systems - information provided to external booking sites is incorrect but they do not understand the system at all. One receptionist in particular was unhelpful, argumentative and rude when checking the room we had been given against what we had booked- blamed Booking.com - a stand off ensued but eventually we were given the room we had booked - a poor start.||||Hotel is tired but hides behind its concept - grandmas house from the 70,s. Rooms are small although clean, hot water plentiful. Whole hotel smells of weed, apparently their guests like to party and their is nothing they can do - smoking is not permitted inside so fail to understand this. Claim to be 4 star but definitely not!||||Breakfast- small selection, just ok - big reduction in offering from last year.||||My advice is if you just want a base it’s fine - if you are looking for something a bit more then...
