The location is great, but the service? Now that’s where things get truly special. I had the pleasure of encountering the head waiter—His Highness. HH was proudly holding down the fort, standing guard at the sacred gates of table assignments, making sure to remind everyone that he alone decides who sits where. As you can imagine, such a responsibility demands an exceptional level of qualification and a remarkably high IQ—both of which he no doubt believes he possesses in abundance.
We had just finished skiing—family and instructors together—but apparently, tables here are reserved for ghosts, since he refused to seat us properly. The best part? The table he wouldn’t let us use stayed empty the whole time. Clearly, he’s mastered a groundbreaking business model—revenue is overrated.
Then came the food. The sushi roll arrived in a single piece instead of the usual 4 or 6, almost like it had been pre-cut and thrown onto a plate last minute. Not a word of explanation, just a silent drop-off like this was completely normal. And when I tried to ask about it? He walked away, pretending not to hear me. Impressive technique—I should try that at meetings.
And the espresso? Pure luxury—if your idea of luxury is a machine-made, button-pressed coffee straight out of an office break room. The kind that spits out a sad excuse for espresso at the push of a button. I imagine the machine was exhausted from trying to make this place look high-end.
To top it off, when I went to pay, His Highness was deep in conversation, imparting his great wisdom to his colleague—debating the profound topics of which table to wipe first and in what sacred order the plates should be cleared. Completely ignoring me, of course, as if I didn’t exist. I wouldn’t dream of interrupting such an intellectual symposium, so I simply stood there, taking in the elite service in action.
I’ll probably forget this place by next week, but I bet he’ll still be here, holding down the fort until the end...
Read moreThis is my personal opinion. I will try to write it as unbiased as possible and as objective as well. Was recommended to try this place for apres by Cap Horn staff (incredible service and restaurant btw). Was left disappointed and I will explain in detail why is that the case.
I had to wait to get seated, but that is fine (courche is crowded this time of the year), but what was going on after is a complete mess. 1-st of all I was seated, but not assigned to any waiter. Waiters are unfriendly and not attentive at all 0/10. Waited for 25 minutes. Finally got my menu and ordered after 30 mins of sitting at the table. Lamb was mostly fat (low quality meat), overpriced at 48 euros even for Courchevel, imagine cheapest fries possible, that’s what you will get. Ordered a glass of red wine and sparkling water. They arrived only when I finished with my main dish. Not only that the glass in which the wine was served was dirty. Seriously, like half of the glass was in dirt stains on the outside, what a disgrace tbh. Paid and left and would not return again. As a bonus it was quite cold inside the restaurant , bc staff is also serving outside area.
I see that personnel management does not cope clearly. Servers seem fast, but in fact they do work quite slow. I was served by a redhead and a brunette guy as they switched at some point (redhead just gave my table to the poor guy, who was already disoriented.) And dropped her notebook with my order in front of me 🤣
Overall, as an owner of Unesco Heritage protected restaurant owner and other Michelin guide restaurant owner (under our umbrella) I think my opinion is conclusive 👎🏼. Also had a sense that waiters serve larger groups better (tip hunting), which is okay, but be graceful and don’t make solo guests or couples...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible! Do not waste your time or money. This place has been here forever And yet gets worse every year.
Clearly, they rely solely on their location only being at the bottom of the slopes at 1850 in Courchevel. They do not train their stuff. I had a staff member run into me with hot wine, hot chocolate and more and was more concerned about that falling on the carpet on all of my clothes and my person. It took him five minutes to apologize and get me a rag to clean myself up. Nobody from the staff or management came if anything we were asked to move to the side by other staff members in order to them to continue their service. Very disappointing in fact , if you’re used to decent or good service DO NOT GIVE THIS...
