The reception woman at 1850 just awful.
Today we encountered an extremely unpleasant experience with the reception at 1850. We were assisted (if possible to say lol) by the blonde woman on the right side of ESF desk.
Long story short. Wanted to book an afternoon private class (12-2). Came up to her at 10, gave her the money which she refused to take saying that we should come closer to 12 to get an instructor. Refused our request to reserve a spot or at least give her our mobile number so we can be notified in case anything, saying that we donât need to worry as she âhas a lot of instructorsâ. Timelapse to 11:45 â after waiting for two hours basically in the next room, we come back just to find this lady spreading her hands and saying that she doesnât have anyone for us and we should wait some more. Jumping to 12:45, at this point 3 hours of wait right in front of her nose â we come up asking whatâs up. Her answer was that she has sold all the instructors and has no availability. Why has she done that, you ask, knowing that there was a family of 4 next door, deceived by her guaranties? The same question arose amongst ourselves, which we have politely asked her. Being âcaught red-handedâ, the lady became extremely aggressive.
I want to mark that I am talking with dignity and respect all the time because thatâs what I has taught, and I always meet aggression with friendliness. This was the first time in my life I have regretted my inability to be harsh.
She was gaslighting us that she has never said that, when 5 people, her colleague included, told her she did, she started throwing hands and gesturing excessively. âOKAY, OKAY, OKAY!â She exclaimed and vigorously pushed back her chair and turned away from us, leaving conversation in extremely inappropriate and inadequate way. Obviously, we havenât received any apologies from her or initiative to resolve or compensate the situation which happened because of her overlook.
We certainly have not expected the behaviour of 14yo child going though puberty from the staff of one of the most renowned, respected and expensive ski resorts in the world. Not to mention that we have wasted a few hours and full ski day due to this.
We come to Courchevel for quality, not for our nerves being played on. We decide to spend our money here, and we pay for dignity, not for hysterical women bossing us around.
âââ a follow up.
We do understand mistakes can happen. We also do understand that it may have been beyond control IF the woman didnât know about us (but she knew :)) that we were waiting next door for two hours by her advice. What struck us the most is the lack of basic apologies and this childish and extremely rude behaviour. This is unacceptable under any...
Read moreI bought a week course for beginner - ski.
I was told i would need a 3 vallee pass, which I bought for the whole week, but in reality we only ski on green slopes inside courchevel. So I dont understand why they make you buy a more expensive pass when its never going to be used.
I started in class 1, and in one week we only did green slopes, not a single blue. im very disappointed because i thought they would teach us more, i just learned how to stop parallel. honestly i could had gotten that single tip in one day, and just go by myself to practice. Another thing is that group member are always moving, everyday we had a different person coming from another group (lower o higher level). My group got divided into people who could stop very well and people who couldnt stop. I found myself in 3 long boring days since i was learning nothing, professor was either improving the 2 high evel that arrived at the end, or helping the ones falling. So I can honestly say I got 2 good avdices from the professor in 5 days. the 1st was a demostration of how to stop parallel, and the second he told me i should stop withouth moving the upper part of my body :) thats all, 340 eur for 2 advises.
I would advise the rest of you to take 1 day of class and go practice yourself, probably same thing as taking...
Read moreI experienced the service of esf 1850.
I booked 2 private lessons on their website one of them showed up on time while the other was 2 hours late for a 4 hour lesson. The website checkout experience was easy; they were eager to take my money.
1 of the lessons was good. The instructor was friendly and he showed us around to a few good restaurants.
The 2nd lesson was not good. The instructor was 2 hours late, which wasted a significant part of the ski day. The morning time is the least crowded and the best skiing, and this was missed. By the time the instructor showed up, lines were longer and the snow was not as good. Esf did not offer a discount and I had to ask repeatedly with several follow up questions. The problem was not with a bank transfer taking too long. The problem was that esf 1850 customer service did not want to acknowledge that a problem occurred or that a discount was appropriate. I paid for a 4 hour lesson. I received a 2 hour lesson because the instructor was 2 hours late to arrive.
I understand that mistakes can happen. I did not understand why esf 1850 would not acknowledge the error and why they took almost a month to offer a discount which reflected the actual service I received versus what I...
