Absolutely stunning hotel! I didn't stay here as a guest but I just visited the bar! The interior and atmosphere is incredible I felt so relaxed and chilled here! The staff were friendly and helpful in guiding me to decide a cocktail I drank the perfect storm and it was delicious! My friend had a Moscow mule which I tried and I can say exactly the same DELICIOUS! There was live music which was wonderful the atmosphere was incredible! They offered us some snacks for the table and we had the option of sweet or salted! We chose sweet and we were served a variety of chocolate and dried fruit! The prices were expensive but it is expected from such a luxury hotel! If you want a chilled evening with a cool vibe I 100%recommend visiting the palace des neiges!

Damaged our Range Rover - the valet broke a wiper blade off on the day we left and then over charged us for a car for my wife and daughter to get to the airport - I had to limp 20kms to find a garage in appalling weather…frankly terrible, unforgivable service and just aggressive email correspondence after the event. A balcony but with no furniture. Avoid at all costs!

This is a hotel we’ve been coming to since the 80s when it was still Byblos. Even when it became Palace Des Neiges, it was excellent until 2020, which was the previous time we had come. Since then it has been taken over by a new group and standards have plummeted.

Service: previously, as annual visitors booking multiple rooms, we were welcomed warmly. This time, check-in was terrible. We had always requested and received a particular room and this time they had no record of it. Each room now required a €1400 security hold, but did not accept Amex. After going to our rooms, we found several did not have working heating and needed to change. We were told going to other rooms would be extra, despite the fact that basics like heating weren’t working at all.

Rooms: as stated above, we needed to change rooms for some of our party due to heating not functioning, or the rooms being much smaller than we had previously stayed in. Once in our rooms, some of us found that the showers would change temperature dramatically, and we’d suddenly be blasted with cold or hot water. In two rooms, the baths were missing plugs and this took a while to resolve. For those that tried to use the TVs, some found that they simply couldn’t get any channels in the evening. We had to report these concerns each time and the response times were slow.

Restaurant: what used to be a highlight of staying here has become its weakest point. Staying on half board, there is only one dish included in the evening, or else dishes chosen from the menu usually require a supplement payable. None of this would necessarily be a problem except the quality of the food is now very low. One evening, the included dish was a salmon dish, but we were given the option of chicken. Some of us took salmon, the others, the chicken. The dishes were identical, including the unpleasant sauce, except for the protein.

Lounge: what used to be a comfortable, warm, refined place to stay in the evening has lost all its charm due to the club music they now insist on playing loudly (another review has also mentioned this). The piano that used to be a wonderful accompaniment to some pre-dinner drinks is now just a table for the DJ’s decks. Additionally, the fireplace’s smoke blows back into the lounge making everything smoky. The smoking room is also poorly ventilated and usually too cold.

With all the changes that have been made, there are a couple of good points: The ski-room is much improved, and the staff there are friendly and helpful (but I believe this is run separately to the hotel). The post-ski tea is nice, although you have to endure the club music. The rooms are cleaned and maintained very well. Emmanuel at the front desk was particularly friendly and helpful.

Overall, this trip and all the changes/cost-cutting that have happened have soured our image of what used to be a highlight of our year. We will be looking at other places...

This hotel is literally the epitome of hell. Stayed here over the holiday period as a result of sadly this being the only “5 star” hotel with any availability. Ignoring the obvious things such as inedible food, worn down cutlery, towels that come smelling like oil placed in rooms, Concierge and the front desk do not respond or action any client requests, no matter how often you chase them or who you speak to. I quickly learnt that management do not either. Immediately upon check in I noticed my room was clearly not cleaned when I mentioned this they assured me the room had been cleaned. Upon inspection of the room I found men’s clothing left in the cupboards (clearly from the guest prior to me). Photos were taken and all provided and sent to the manager Oliver Zimmerlin for the record, the approach overall was overly casual. In addition to the room having not been cleaned (and no compensation or anything being offered), I had sent clothes for dry cleaning and these came back with a POTENT smell of strong chemical and various items had fabric texture changes, full damage or discolouration, again, much like any other issue that was raised to management or the front desk there was a very relaxed approach and dismissive. I was assured if I left the damaged items behind (which I did) I would be reimbursed upon my check out. I have been chasing management since early January for the promised refund of the damaged items and they are unresponsive. I would not...

Donc...
