Where to start… We are a family of three (Myself, my wife, and our daughter) who traveled to Paris, France for the holidays and unfortunately chose the ApartHotel Adagio La Defense Courbevoie to book a room from 30DEC21-7JAN22. The hotel, although, located just a few minutes from La Defense business district, restaurants, and other amenities, is at a good 15-minute walk to the nearest metro station (La Defense). We arrived on December 30 and did not spend much time at the hotel - I mean we were in Paris!!! it is so beautiful - Even with the minimum amount of time we spent at the hotel, we were able to notice that although the staff was not rude per se, they were neither friendly nor helpful. We never felt warmly greeted by the staff. The hotel breakfast was ok - management stopped the 24-hours coffee/hot beverages service while we were there, so no more free coffee at night -, the service, in general, was just ok. We were set to leave Paris on 7 January, so we had our PCRs done on Thursday, January 6, receiving the results the same day at night. Unfortunately, two out of three results were positive, so we weren't cleared to fly back having to reschedule everything. Being a tourist in France, I did not know the procedures hotels would or should have in place for "current guests" testing positive "during" their stay - I mean, we are dealing with this pandemic for almost two years and would expect some kind of reasonable procedures supported and enforced by a first world country government - I approached the staff at the front desk around 6:30 p.m., and updated the guy on night shift about our COVID situation. He was able to extend our stay for additional 14 days but was quick to say that he was new there and that he was going to inform the manager about it. I told him that we were aware of the seriousness of the situation and that we were willing to strictly adhere to the hotel COVID protocol, guidance, and requirements -assuming after two years of the pandemic, having a COVID Standard Operating Procedure in place must be a basic requirement for operating a hotel business - to deal with COVID positive guests. After almost two hours a received a call from the front desk telling me that I have to take my family and leave the hotel as soon as possible. We were kicked out of the hotel the very next morning, finding ourselves homeless in the middle of a dreary and rainy winter morning. Everything was exceptional about our trip to France, but the way we were treated by the staff and managers at the ApartHotel Adagio La Defense Courbevoie was borderline inhumane. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel, there are plenty more and much better hotels...

I am posting this review to warn others about my HORRIBLE experience with Adagio hotel and Agoda. I encourage you to think twice before booking here.
I had planned a trip to Paris from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In order for me to get a travel visa, it was required that I have a reservation at a hotel. I attempted to reserve a room at this hotel, but I mistakenly clicked on a non-cancellable reservation. I misread the page and thought it was for a free cancellation I had already booked on Agoda, for the same times, same city.
I was horrified when I realized what had happened but it got much worse. I contacted Agoda and informed the hotel (by agoda messenger) IMMEDIATELY to explain that I had made a mistake. Agoda understood that it was a wrong click and I have 2 booking of 2 hotels as the same time, same city which is Adagio booking just 5' after the first book. Agoda confrimed they will contact hotel to explain and hope the hotel can help to cancel it. But they REFUSED to even consider my request to refund even a part of the $516 USD for the stay. It was bad enough that they refused my pleas and have some sympathy for my situation, but both the agent I spoke with and the hotel manager LITERALLY LAUGHED AT ME on the phone. I was TERRIBLY UPSET at this treatment and was literally in tears. Bad enough to have $516 USD taken from me, but to be laughed at by the agent and manager was unconscionable.
No wonder this hotel gets a 1.7 star rating (out of 5) on Trustpilot.
Agoda was also unable to accommodate even a partial refund for me. And because of the long processing time to get a visa in Vietnam, I was unable to use the reservation. I informed them 5' after I had the wrong click, it was 16 days before the booking day, I emailed and called them a few times (all before the booking date) and tried to ask for a solution or a small refund but they just said even they know I couldn't come, I had a mistake on clicking, that the policy so they will follow, the owner told them to tell me the answer will always NO. Now, still 2 days before the booking date, I called but couldn't meet any one and they irnorge my email.
Bottom line: Yes, I made a clicking error, but to be treated with SO LITTLE RESPECT and SO LITTLE COMPASSION is shameful. Frankly, $516 USD is a huge amount of money for someone from Vietnam. I was shocked that there couldn’t be even a hint of a compromise for a technical error I made and tried to correct immediately.
SHAME on all of you at Adagio City and Agoda for creating such a distressing situation for me. I truly hope other travelers remember this when they...
Read moreI recently had a disappointing experience at Aparthotel Adagio la Défense Courbevoie due to their poor communication and booking issues. We have booked 5 rooms for our 5 members in our team. Even we paid fully for the 5 rooms for the entire week before arrival. Upon arrival, our team were shocked to find out that the hotel tried to give us only 3 rooms instead of five, despite our reservation clearly stating 5 rooms. We had booked through Booking.com, and we have made a complaint and booking.com had to step in to help resolve the issue.
Once booking.com called they accepted the issure but to make matters worse, the hotel staff asked us to wait until the next morning for the manager to arrive before they could sort out the problem. In the meantime, they suggested that we share the 3 rooms they had available, as they claimed they didn't have any extra rooms. This was inconvenient and uncomfortable for our party, as we had expected to have separate rooms for privacy and comfort and specially after 14-16 hrs flight.
However, things took a turn when our hosting party from France called the hotel to inquire about the issue. Surprisingly, the hotel immediately provided them with 5 rooms, without any further delays or excuses. (Dont know how they found extra two rooms)This inconsistent treatment left us feeling frustrated and discriminated against.
The lack of proper communication and the hotel's failure to honor our reservation and provide adequate accommodation options was unacceptable. It caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience during our stay. As guests, I expect a hotel to have efficient communication and reliable booking processes to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience for guests.
I would not recommend Aparthotel Adagio la Défense Courbevoie to others due to their poor communication, booking issues, and inconsistent treatment of guests. It's important for hotels to prioritize effective communication and resolve booking issues promptly to avoid inconveniencing guests and tarnishing...
