Finding wheat/gluten free places in France seems to be quite difficult. This hotel's restaurant does have "gluten free options" listed on the website so we after contacting them to make sure, we decided to book for our stopovers. Yes, they can provide gluten free bread, but you will have to ask for it and you may need to remind them (at our first breakfast they forgot we had asked for it, but on the second stopover the bread arrived very quickly). There are a couple of gluten free options for dinner, but again you may need to be a little bit persistent and double check what is on offer. Breakfast is a buffet, which can cause problems with cross contamination, but you can boil your own egg and the cheese options were possible. Not sure about the meat items as there was no description of what they contained. Butter, yogurt, fromage blanc etc are not in separate containers, but the bread is displayed on the opposite site of the room, so should reduce the chance of cross contamination. There is also fruit available. There are rice cakes and a few small gluten free biscuits - but it would be better to display them away from the gluten containing items. to sum up, it is possible to eat with a...
Read moreThe hotel facilities and location are great and in theory it could have been a very pleasant stay. However the staff was incredibly rude and unaccommodating in regards to room temperature. It was unusually warm in April and our room got all the afternoon sun, so it was clearly like a greenhouse. The hotel's response was that in this time of year they dont turn on the AC, which is ridiculous, considering it is one of the amenities it offers. It was hard to sleep in the heat of the room and one of the lobby employees just brushed us off with a recommendation of opening the window - which was also an issue considering our room was overlooking the pool and all the noise and cigarettes' smoke came through our window - this was also facing the main road into town. The third night they gave us a fan - which doesn't by any means provide any comfort in the stuffy heat that was our room. Although the hotel is nice and clean, I would probably not return to a place that is on saving mode on a basic amenity at the expense of guests' comfort. Also the unfriendliness of the desk staff that we interacted with was...
Read moreWe loved our stay here. It provides us we everything we needed. I have summarized pros and cons:
Pros: Great location, close to the city center and to the highway. It is a 10 min walk to downtown, approx 15 min walk to the Basilique of Notre Dane. Service was amazing since the moment we arrived until we left. Good sized beds, on the harder size but comfortable. Amazing restaurant (M7). Free beverages in the mini fridge and every day replaced with new.
Cons: Truth as it is, the privilege double room is TINY. With our suitcases wide open we could barely walk. We enjoyed all the amenities in it, but the room felt cramped. We didn’t use the swimming pool, but it did look very small for such a huge hotel. There is no “don’t disturb” tag to put on the door. We didn’t want our room to now cleaned and still service was done. We...
