Crescendo Restaurant — Restaurant in Beaune

My partner and I called in early evening for some food after seeing the menu online and seeing the location was convenient as we were travelling through Beaune . We speak a little French but found the system to order food quite complicated and after trying to ask the staff for help found they couldn’t be bothered to help us . We found that the Hamburgers and burgers were off the menu. We opted for the breaded chicken with fried, vegetables and a sauce . We we finally received our food it was very poor to the point I’ve had better from a fairground fast food stand , the chicken was over cooked and dry the outer coating of breadcrumbs was burned , the chips or fries were soggy. I have to say I’ve had a better meal at McDonald’s! If this is typical of the Crescendo chain I’ll never use...

We stopped off here for a simple breakfast and that’s pretty much what we got. I mean, it’s a restaurant/cafe in a small mall, so you probably have a good idea of what you’re going to get. For €6.20 you get a croissant or pain au chocolates (but not a pain au raisin -that you would have to buy separately); a bread roll with butter and jam; and a coffee. And (this was a pleasant surprise) freshly squeezed orange juice - as in, you get to watch the oranges being squeezed). The food was OK, the coffee was good and the juice was lovely. Service was quick and friendly. The place isn’t exactly atmospheric, but you’re in a mall, so what would you expect?

So, hey, it’s fine. I’m OK with it. We could have paid three or four times as much in a hotel for more food than we wanted....

Dropped in here for a casual lunch, and was pleasantly surprised, the salads were fresh, from the salad bar, they have previous made salad also. The bread was fresh and crispy, with wine by the glass, (we had the kir), which was gorgeous. There is a hot food section also, you can order from, pizza, meats etc. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, the restaurant is huge with an upstairs sitting area, with floor to ceiling glass windows, brings in lots of light and creates a great atmosphere and space while looking out. Gets very busy at lunch. Great place. Highly recommend...
