Situated approximately ten minutes from the picturesque old city of Colmar, getting to the hotel is relatively easy.|If you are flying in from Basel I recommend you book a Flix bus in advance to take you to Colmar rail station. It doesn’t cost much and only takes an hour. From there you can either walk to the hotel, which will take around twenty five minutes or alternatively look out for one of the small free electric buses that frequently turn up at the station and get off at rue Stanislas. From there it’s just a five minute walk.|We found the staff at the Ibis to be friendly and helpful. We decided against the breakfast option. While it did look pretty good we chose to eat around town instead.|Although our room was small it was very clean and complete with an on- suite shower/toilet and a wall mounted television. We thought the mattress was a bit too hard but as we were only on a weekend break it was just about bearable. Access to the room was via a numbered key pad on the door.|If you arrive early the reception will securely store your bags for you, so you can have a quick look around the town and the check in at the required time later, which is 3pm onwards. |We think for a short break the Ibis Central Ville represents good value for money and would be happy to stay there again should we ever...
Read moreI’m giving 2 stars only because the location is close to the city center. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was quite disappointing.
Having stayed at several Ibis branches before, I know what to expect in terms of decent, basic service. However, this particular hotel fell short. The rooms were extremely small and not well maintained. The bed was uncomfortable, and the blackout curtains didn’t block out light properly and could hear car’s passing by, making it hard to sleep.
We had a delay on the road and tried calling the hotel throughout the day to ensure we could still check in and access the parking, but the phone line wasn’t working. When we arrived, we were left standing outside the parking for over 30 minutes before finally pressing the emergency button to get help.
Another issue was with housekeeping. Cleaning needs to be requested at the front desk—something we weren’t informed of at check-in—so it was too late by the time we found out.
We didn’t expect luxury, as this is a budget hotel, but this experience redefined “budget” in the worst way. I wouldn’t recommend this location and won’t...
Read moreLocations, cleanness and room was perfect. I'd NOT recommended it in Colmar. I've been from March 31 to April 2nd, the attention from the lady at night (do not remember the name) was lovely, however, I'm forced to qualify this hotel with 2 stars due to the rude receptionist in the midday I left. I left my bag there, and said that I'll back in the midday to pick it up and go to the station to take the train to the Airport. When I arrive to the check in desk, there was a paper "Je suis in a pausee" and the desk was empty. I noticed 4 ladies on the back having lunch on the tables on the back, so I went closer, apologized for interrupt their lunch (?) (one the service of the hotel is 24 hr...) and explain the situation, that if I don't get the train, I will miss my flight. One of the ladies, without even turn her view on me, stand up, went to the storage room and gave the bag in a REALLY RUDE way, without saying "goodbye". I've been several times in the Ibis, and It's such a shame that the last experience...
