Unacceptable service. Especially at check-in then even worse at 'dinner' which end result was I wasn't even served! Unbelievable! First receptionist at restaurant invited me to the big, wooden (dirty I might add) table in front of reception as at 21h30 last Saturday that was the only table left. No problem but then another front desk guy said 'we were full' I explained that his predecessor invited me to sit at this filthy table...which was never cleaned. After about 30 minutes of absolutely zero attention; not even a look in my direction and believing I would advance the process of atleast a clean table and who knows, possibly water? I decided to go to restaurant reception and order.....another 30 minutes...nothing! I pleaded 'atleast bring me the glass of wine I ordered'...it eventually came. Finally at approximately 23h00 I left! No food, finished and paid for the 12€ glass of wine that I finally obtained and was the only thing in my stomach that night...very angry!
And this was after the famous Saturday night check in! About the same level of finesse. 19h30 +/- Me and another couple (they were eventually assisted a good 10 minutes of waiting by the second 'reception ' stand directly across from the main table (closer to the bar). I, on the other hand continued to wait as the same person was absolutely gushing and explaining just about everything in life.. seriously, important tidbits such as 'first time here ' her making reservations for the child to use the fitness center, explaining * everything about the hotel* .a very solid and professional arrival indeed.
I then had my turn and * b a m* ! Less than 30 seconds I had my key. Period. What?? I has a very early departure ( the exact reason I chose this hotel) I asked if there was coffee facilities in the room. She said 'No' Good news and curiously enough, there was coffee and tea in the room. Great! But either she did not understand me or when I queried...'no coffee Is there a way I can order a beverage in the morning before my 06h30 flight' ? she replied 'No'. Ummm, there is room service! Did she not know that?
Those 2 experiences are why I write this review. Totally unacceptable. Especially for a Pullman hotel.
There are two positive things that I must note. First, the room itself was clean, nice and well appointed. Second, there was a super nice guy at reception very early last Sunday morning. Professional, speedy (grateful due to my early departure) and with a smile. I believe his name was Hamid. I am not sure but he should be easy for management to acknowledge and thank. Indeed it was due to him that this overpriced, no-dinner & poor unacceptable receptionist experience at check in did not receive an even more negative review.
I do wonder if the reason the gushing over the family of four checking in before me was due to them being 'loyalty' members or perhaps booking direct? If that's the case management should take note of this as, at check- in, one should not be penalized if they book in via an online platform...in my case it was via Booking.com
The restaurant experience was absolutely unacceptable A to Z.
I'll be staying at CDG...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for one night prior to a flight home to Vancouver. We will definitely not stay here again. We arrived at 11am but could not check in until 2pm, so we had to sit in the bar area for 3 hours.
Pros:
-the bar was relaxing and the staff were very nice. We had lunch in the bar to waste some time prior to check-in. Although portion sizes were small for the price, the cheese tray was fabulous.
-the room was clean.
Cons:
-the hotel was booked through Booking dot com. More than 24 hours prior to the reservation, I messaged the hotel to ask for early check-in. They never responded.
-at 2pm, there was only ONE employee handling check-in. After already sitting around for 3 hours we had to wait another 45 minutes to get to our room because there were more than 12 people ahead of us in the line up (you need to hire more employees to check-in your guests at 2:00 p.m.). The guy at the front desk when we arrived at 11am was rude, and the girl who checked us in at 2pm clearly hated her job. Both employees never smiled once and were very unfriendly.
once we arrived at the room, my wife took a shower and the tub would not drain. The body wash container was also empty. We had to call an employee to plunge the drain and walk down the hallway to get more body wash from one of the employees.
The air conditioner did not work properly, we were unable to get the temperature down to a cool level. We both felt ill from the poor air flow and the heat. There were no windows that would open in the room either, so we couldn't get any fresh air.
around 6:00 p.m., we were hungry and wanted to order room service. The room service menu clearly stated they were open from morning until later in the evening. When we contacted them, they said they could not serve for another 45 minutes so I should call back then. So we had to wait until almost 7:00 pm to place our order for some fries, a salad, and potatoes (the food was good when it finally arrived).
The hotel is way overpriced for what you get. There's not even a proper coffee machine in the room. Every other hotel we stayed at had nespresso machines. I'd recommend staying at a hotel in Paris rather than wasting your money on this hotel.
In summary, the food, drink, and service in the bar area were good. Everything else was terrible. We won't recommend this hotel or stay here again. It's far too expensive for the terrible service and the lack...
Read moreThere were a few good things about this hotel: The room was quiet The bed was comfortable and Lucyle was an amazing server in the lounge area. She was bright, fun, professional and lent the hotel an air of class. She should be working at a Michelin starred restaurant. However, the hotel’s superlatives end there. The Pullman Roissy at CDG has a “party” atmosphere. Techno music pounds while the bar is packed with loud drinkers. Walking into the hotel, it felt more like a club than a hostelry. We couldn’t find the check in desk with all the computer tables and computers in the lobby. This is certainly a hotel banking on a young, techno driven clientele. We wanted dinner in the restaurant, but it was full and the staff was completely disorganized. People were forced to bring their addition up to the maitre d’ since the servers could not be found. That’s when we decided to eat at the bar. The bar was packed, with a bunch of rude and loud dudes having a convention at the hotel. We grabbed the last table left in the lounge. This was close to 10:45 PM.
The room was a lesson in perversity. There was a nice room to shower in, with decent towels and a large sink, but no toilet. That is correct. The toilet had its own cell next to the entrance to the room. This dark, foreboding toilet room had no sink, just a toilet. There were no photos, pictures, just a toilet. Washing up took place in the designated shower room. Get up, wipe, and be careful not to touch anything until you get to the shower room around the corner. If someone is in the sink/ shower room and you used the toilet, you are forced to touch things in the room. There must be more germs than a Uzbekistan campground outhouse in the Pullman rooms. Yech! Oh, the door to the sink/shower room was off its hinges, and we had to lift the door to close it. Pullman, if you want to fix this door, it’s room 236.
We asked for a 6:00 AM wake up call that never materialized. Fortunately, we woke up at 6:30, were out by 8:00 AM, wheeled our luggage to the train station, and lugged ourselves on to the train to get off at the utter chaos of Terminal 2E at CDG Airport. Pullman door to terminal check in was 30 minutes.
The Pullman at Charles de Gaulle Airport is a total let down and not worth the expense. Next time, we return to the Hilton. As for the Pullman, “party...
